Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

We basically are using the 2 hour Mexican Donkey Cocktail Party for a welcome party the day before. I got the beach location by asking for it.

On Sunday i am going to do an informa meet at the bar cocktail hour before our private reception. I really wanted a welcome party that Jay and I could enjoy as well as our guest meet each other :)

How are you working the welcome beach party?  I was thinking of using our "free" cocktail party for the welcome party, and if we could do a dance party after, that would be great.  Did you discuss this with your wedding coordinator?

Hi ladies! It's been awhile since I have written. I have been traveling so much, I feel like my wedding plans have been put on hold. No longer! Is anyone sending out formal invitations to their guests? Any luck with places online? I'm having a hard time making decisions because there are so many options. I think we've finally settled on colors, turquoise and coral/orange. My dress comes in on Tuesday and we are ordering my sister's MOH dress this week. Slowly but surely, things are coming together.

Nikki,
I also brought my iPOD and plug it into their sound system. Worked great! I do recommend bringing your charger. I had one of my friends go back to the hotel room and got us a charger during the reception.

Chong, Meghan said the sound system charges the iPod while it's plugged in. Did you use a different sound system?

Meghan, did you bring an adaptor for your laptop? Are the electrical sockets in Mexico same as the ones found in Canada?

I definitely recommend a travel agent, he/she could become your best friend!

I think I told you this already but I love love love your dress!

I purchased from Debbie Co Flowers on the internet. It takes awhile but I got really good customer service. The bouquets wound up being smaller than I had expected but I think that was more because I was unfamiliar with the sizing.

We're doing the Sky Deck

Thank you for this link.....I'm headed over to check it out now!

So all we need to bring is our iPod and they will plug it into their sound system? There is no need to bring anything else? What about charging? How did you charge your iPod during the reception?

Thanks.

Nikki

I would recommend fully charging your iPod before you use it. Mine was charged and the charge lasted the entire 2 hours of the cocktail reception and 4 hours of the wedding reception.

The beach is rather loud so you may want to think about renting their sound system if your reception is going to be at the beach.  The sound system I used at both the welcome reception and the wedding reception did not charge the iPod.  It wasn't a docking station.  It just had a jack to play music from the iPod.

Men can wear jeans! As long as people are not wearing swimsuits or shorts, you should be fine. But I have to admit we did see some men with dressy shorts on and they ate at Spoon and the Mexican restaurants no problems. You might not get into Le Chique with shorts though.

I was a pretty relaxed planner tho, didnt really finalize anything until about a month before our wedding, when the final payment was due. We had emailed back and forth a bit, but most of it was done over the phone one month out. We chatted, while sending emails back and forth confirming pictures of things I had sent earlier. All details finalized in about an hour and a half :) It was perfect! I'm getting married in 9 days and Im super pumped!! Feel totally prepared and well planned!

Your day is almost here! So thrilled for you. Let us know how it goes. Have a safe flight and a beautiful wedding smile03.gif

Curious how you have managed to get the Donkey Bar? Are you confirmed for it, or just thinking of doing it? We are trying to get it and they are informing us the donkey is no longer allowed at the Sensatori....sigh. smile27.gif Would love to know...since we really wanted to do this for our guests. Right now we are thinking we'll just do a regular cocktail hour.

We sent out STD and formal invitations. We wanted something very basic and simple and found great ones online at Vistaprint.

Electrical sockets and voltage are the same as Canada/USA. No adapters required! Depending on where you hold your reception there are multiple plugs all over the resort. (although they have to run extention cords for the beach)

I should clarify : I started with the donkey but then they did away with the donkey so I have the food and bar price point still. Just no live donkey. Trust me I was pissed and raised a ruckus but no donkey

Hey girls,

So, I actually got some wedding planning done this weekend.  I have a ton of DIY projects that I want to get working on.  We got some of our engagement pics in and I love them!!  There are still a ton more to see too.

Here is a pic of our centerpieces.  We are going to have turquoise table runners and I'm considering having sand and seashells on the table, but I'm not sure if the sand will look bad.  So, maybe just some seashells.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
