I have been quoted 100$ for white fabric and then the flowers are 60$ each and we would need 2 sets of flowers, one for each side of the gazebo.

Considering our wedding package costs $3000 not alot seems to be included! be careful as all of these extra things add up.x

That looks so good....I like the sheers more flowy like that...

I'm planning on Purple and White....no starfish...what could be cute as the holder in place?

Maybe I need to think of mascot :)

I've been a little MIA lately..still reading all the posts..just not so much to add as I am not getting married for 487 more days :)  Plus...I'm not getting ANY responses from any WC...still no idea who my new one is after Kiara...but....whatever...not really all that concerned.

But...I have an appointment on Saturday to look at dresses...still early but sooooooo excited! I've been overdosing on Say Yes To the Dress On Demand.

So, I was told you can not have a cocktail reception up there.  I hear they do give you a drink before the ceremony.  In addition, other brides have said it is really hot so you won't want to have it there!!  My ceremony is on the sky deck and reception at zavas plaza just like you and we just decided to open up the bar and plaza zavas for about an hour/hour and a half after the wedding and we are going to have passed appetizers and music before the "official reception" starts.  this will give us time to take some pictures and others to freshen up if wanted.  while those who want to start drinking can.

It looks like from pictures there's a place to do a cocktail reception on the opposite end as the pergola - is anyone planning their cocktail reception up there? Where are people holding their cocktail hours? The wedding book is confusing because it prices out a 2-hour cocktail reception but it almost looks like it's in place of a private reception (I'm holding the Zavas Plaza for my actual reception).

Thanks!

I know I can find it here if I hunt for the list, but when's your wedding again?  My TA says that sometimes Karisma will be more flexible with giving this kind of deal to Canadians depending on when the wedding is/how busy they are at that time etc. etc.

I've already fought this battle and have found it sooo frustrating to just be shut down at every turn for this.  We're having 56 guests already and I'm unbelievably upset that NONE of these kinds of deals are being provided to us.  excuse being "that's only available to USA brides"

So I FINALLY finished reading this entire thread, and now I feel very informed and ready to take on some wedding planning!

My wedding is a year away, so I know I won't be nailing down any specific details right now, but I was wondering when you all got assigned to a WC?  We booked our date and paid our deposit a couple of weeks ago, and nobody has contacted me yet.  Do I need to talk to my TA about this or did someone from the resort contact you?  All I really want to do right now is book the resort location so I can get what I want.

Yes, there are two gazebo locations. About 20-30 pages back maybe, JaimeCF2 (don't remember all the digits - sorry) posted pics of the beach locations.  One is near the pier you see in a lot of pictures, and the other is closer to the beach BBQ I think.  The first has a ramp to come down, the second a stairway.  On the Lomas site, there are options for the gazebo decor.  I am doing one that's $220.00 and it includes I believe two sheers, and two sets of flowers.  Hope this helps!  :o)

The location near the pier is actually the one next to the beach BBQ as well. It's also the one with the ramp to come down.

They don't charge you for the actual ceremony but if you get the vases and sand from them they'll charge.  I actually ended up getting my vases off ebay for $20 (including shipping) and I paid $8 for the sand.

I got married at the gazebo near the pier.  It's the bigger location.  I had 50 guests and the WCs told me that the other beach location was too small to hold everyone.  The bbq closes at 3pm so if your ceremony is after that you won't have to worry about people lurking near your wedding

I was assigned a WC as soon as my date was confirmed but it seems like Karisma has changed their process a lot.  My TA contacted Karisma to confirm the date and once the date was confirmed the TA contacted me and sent the CC authorization form so that I could make the deposit to hold the date.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
