Did you get your hair done at Vassa Spa?  Or a friend?  Its a perfect loose updo!  If the spa did it, I might just have to print one of your pictures to bring with me!  :)

We have 27 people coming to our wedding. What time is your ceremony? We definitely wanted to have the sit down dinner. Even though it's more money than we wanted to pay for (we are doing the $39 per person family style dinner), this is something we didn't want to skip on. I heard that many people changed their clothes and hang out at the pool all night. We didn't want to go out too far since we do want to go back to our room at some point and enjoy the moments together :)

We are also having the rehearsal dinner night before the wedding to have a chance to introduce everyone. Not everyone knows everyone...

You got plenty of time to think about what you want to do!!!

FYI - This is my preliminary schedule:

1pm: start to get ready (hair, makeup, etc)

4pm: private pictures (we decided to meet each other before the ceremony to take some pictures)

5:30pm: ceremony

6:00pm: open bar (we decided to have the bar open first and start the dinner around 7pm)

7:00pm: first dance & cake cutting (we only have the photographers for 5 hrs so decided to cut the cake in the beginning so we can have pictures of it)

7:30pm: dinner

Chong! We are so close! I am so worked up/excited/stressd that I can barley do anything. How are you holding up? Are you all squared away? I'm not yet but getting close. Still waiting on the date of my onsite meeting with the WC team. Do you have yours.

What day do you get in? We should def say hello! I would love to meet you and see all of your wedding planning in action, well sort of...won't happen in action because I'll be getting married too.

Hey, out of curiousity, which of the wedding packages are you doing?

Ah...ok that's all for now. Back to work then home to stuff seating cards in the place card holders and start packing. I think we are going to have like 6 suitcases. AHHH!

Wow!  Really $2500 for the DJ?  Lomas Travel has it listed as $1500 for 4 hrs. with lights.  An extra $1000 is crazy!  I will have to ask about that.  Im working with Carolina now.  I had Cecile before.  It's a pain that they switch over like that, but I guess as long as your detail sheet is accurate then you should be good to go.

Hey Ladies!

I've been MIA again for awhile but wanted to check in and say hi and welcome.gif to all the noobs. I've been really busy and this past weekend I had my bachelorette party and bridal shower. I had a blast!! The pics are on facebook for those of you who want to see them (Meredith Caughman).

I wanted to do a multiquote, but it took me 2 days to catch up and I didn't want to have to go back through the posts.

Jamie, you asked about my BD shoot. I'm actually trying to reschedule that with Christine now. I was supposed to do it Labor Day weekend but with FFIL's passing I didn't want to leave FI alone to fly out and do it. I think it will be the weekend of October 15 so when I get that confirmed I'll let you know how that goes.

Anyone care to share again what they're doing DJ-wise?  I've heard that both DJ Doremixx and DJ Mania (both recommended on this forum and I think Kittenheart used Mania if I remember) are SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than the AS DJ.  Even with the $500 outside vendor fee?!?!

I'm still debating DJ stuff.  I would do the IPOD myself but FI feels that a DJ might be better (music is important for him).  We also have a friend who may be coming who's a DJ but I don't think I really want to ask him to work at our wedding....

Looking for opinions.

Thanks JaimeCF2BR for your 2 cents regarding weather in early fall. Every opinion counts! It's also going to come down to what dates are available. If we're considering early June (is it super hot and humid yet?! Maybe?) we'd need to act fast. I would love nothing more to book first week of November for less chance of rain but it would take a lot of coordination between me and my friend who just told me they're getting married 10/29 in Puerto Vallarta....Early October is just making me nervous!!

Statistics will show you which months have a greater chance of rain, but since its tropical weather, rain showers tend to come and go quickly.  The only thing to remember is Hurricane season is June 1 - November 30, so as scary as it sounds, you may want to have a small thought in your head of what you would do if a Hurricane happen to head towards Cancun the week of your wedding.

To ultimately answer your question, I wouldn't let the rain statistics dictate which month you get married.  Pick the month that works best for you and your FI!

Hope this helps some.

Hi,

In terms of Azul Sensatori for weddings, this is a personal favorite resort of mine for many reasons.

The Azul has a very sophisticated feel to it, however is very child and family friendly as well.

The food and rooms are exceptional and the they offer great reception options for all budgets.

I have had several weddings booked at this resort and it's always a resort that I'm confident my clients will truly enjoy along with friends and family.

I've got lots of pictures and wedding information available for anyone interested in this beautiful resort. [email protected]

Hi,

In terms of weather I find the only couple of months I don't recommend the Riviera Maya area is Sept and October.

For those months I recommend the Dreams resorts in Puerto Vallarta or the Riu resorts in Los Cabos.

The Pacific side of Mexico is much less likely to have storms in these time periods, otherwise for all other months of the year, it's always a gamble weather wise and if they get rain, it's usually only for an hour or two in the afternoon due to it being a very tropical place.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
