Wow. I wish this was the case for me. I am having my wedding on the sky deck and so guests get a welcome drink.(They told me only champagne which is fine.) Then we are having the free cocktail party and the listing denotes "signature cocktail" but every time I send a recipe to my WC she goes to Loams for a quote. very time its been $3 or $4 per drink. When I askd her what would be included (thinking the drinks I chose are too exotic) she tells me only champagne. Now I know that wasn't the case with Amy K but I know they make up their rules as they go along. It's just frustratig because I am having my menus designed and printed as we speak. I have so much to do that I have settled on champagne...but I would love to have a real alcohol drink at the cocktail recepetion because now it's only wine, beer and soft drinks.

Have any past brides shipped anything to the resort? I have 70 OOT bags that I just don't think I can bring. On top of everything we need for the week, all of the baby's stuff and my dress I just can't imagine carrying it all. I wish I had someone to bring them for me but that doesn't work out. FI's MOm suggested DHL. Thoughts?

I don't know of anything off hand but I did find some cool you tube videos today.  Maybe go to youtube and search for beach reception Azul Sensatori.

They won't serve alcohol drinks at the cocktail party?  That's strange.  Is it a different location from your reception?

Hey girls,

Who is everyone using for their photographer?  I want a nice photographer but my budget doesn't allow for it. :(

Are the girls getting married April 30th - May 7th bringing anyone or hiring from Mexico?  Just wondering if there was any options for sharing.

Let me know please.

THANKS!!

So... I am writing it on here to have you guys help hold me accountable.  I WILL have a positive outlook on things.

I love the positive attitude. Sadly, that's what will keep you sane during this process. I'm exactly 2 months out now and I've really been on cruise control. You just have to realize that some people will not remember what your programs looked like or whether or not your centerpieces were fab. What they will remember is their overall experience and unless they're just Debbie Downers you cannot go wrong in that department. Keep looking at the brighter side if things and when you do feel yourself losing control, step back, take a deep breath and remember what is important. You are marrying the man of your dreams and that's all that matters. I think we all lose sight of that from time to time and that's normal but to regain sanity, you have to put things into perspective.

I think we all go through the insanity spell and it definitely helps for you to latch onto those who are genuinely excited for you and your FI and that are excited about Mexico. Later than sooner I came to the realization that I don't really care anymore who comes to our wedding or who complains about the fact that we're doing it the way we want to do it. As long as FI and I make it to Mexico, everyone else is just lagniappe (something extra).

It's interesting that people get told different things. I was never told that the signature drink is just champagne. Problem is, I've never discussed it with my new WC, just my old one that MIA now. It will be interesting when our final payment is due. I'm NOT paying for that.

the price for our guests is flight and hotel for the week, we also have a 100 off fuel surcharge promotion which is why it's 1540 not 1640, it can also be withdrawn at any time so I had to try and get everybody to book as fast as possible.

Those are amazing prices!!! I wish!

You can ship things, it's just highly discouraged.  They're afraid your items won't make it to the resort.  If you insist, they'll give you the shipping address.  We did not end up shipping anything, but at one point I thought we were going to.

This is exactly the attitude to have!!  For all you B2B's, in the end come wedding day, the only thing that matters is your and your FI.  You won't be thinking about the people who didn't make it, or the people who caused drama, or whether your programs turned out the way you wanted.  You and your future hubby are what you'll be thinking about and all the planning you've done and guests that are there are just icing on the cake!

I went with Cairbe Photographer just to have one because we are lucky that 2 of our guests coming are former pro photographers. I am using Cairbe for the family functional type photos then my two guests are going to do some artsy ones or candids

If it makes you all feel better 6 nights for our group in the lowest suite came out to $990 without Air I am banking on about $350 - $450 for airfare

I was planning on using Caribe, but havent booked anything yet.  I'm not in love with their style, but they are the best option in my budget.  I'm not 100% certain how the whole sharing thing works, but if there is an opportunity to get a better photographer for close to the same price...I'm all ears!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
