All of these pictures were taken between 5-6pm to give you an idea of lighting and crowds.  I noticed the album keeps the photos small, so if there's any you'd like enlarged, let me know the title and I'll post or email it.

I have lots more, just wanted to focus on the beach for now since thats been the main topic recently.  If anyone else is interested to see anything else, just let me know.  I think we've officially photographed the whole resort :)

Thanks so much for sending the pics!  I would love to see more if it isn't a problem.   Did you have any of the Zocallo Al Fresco area?

Did you happen to notice if it was cooler or warmer at the Zavaz Plaza?  I've heard it can be stuffy there since it's between two buildings.  So, I was curious if the beach would be a better location.

This past weekend it was super windy on the beach, so it was perfect temperature and breeze at Zavaz Plaza.  I could see if it wasn't windy it might get a little stuffy, but the temperature should still be good (especially at the beginning of May).

I've been MIA so please bear with me while I catch up. Unfortunately, my future father in law passed away unexpectedly last week and I have been tending to family stuff. We have also been back and forth on the road from Georgia so I'm just able to check in.

So sorry about your loss.  We're glad to have you back!

Maggie,

We definitely have to meet. It is crazy that we are living in Houston, getting married at AS and having bachlorette party in Philly. My trip was AWESOME. Got to see some old friends and had a blast at club risque.... scary but hilarious :)

LOVE your invitations. They turned out great!

Second, I heard from Meredith. They had a family emergency and she isn't able to come to Houston this weekend. She TXT me on Tues.

I am so sorry to hear about your problems with DW.com. I have an awesome TA from DW.com and she made sure every penny got counted and even reminded me if I had forgotten few things. I hope you get it resolved without any more hectic. You should definitely fight for what's been agreed upon in the first place.

I also asked her how the BGSF promotion worked and she told me it was equal to the lowest booked room category and would be issued as a refund 10 days after I returned from the trip.  By the time my final room payments were due I had a couple of guests cancel so we only ended up with 25 rooms. My detail sheet from the WC at the resort had me listed as being booked under the BGSF promotion.

When we got to the resort people started inquiring about the resort credit, the WC, event manager and front desk manager said they had no record of us being eligible for any resort credit.  I sent my TA an email while we were still at the resort and she said she'd check into it.  Needless to say there wasn't a resolution before all of my guests left.

When I got home I sent her another email asking about the status of the credits and I also asked her when I could expect my refund from the BGSF promotion.  Again she said she'd look into it.  I never got a response so I sent her another email asking the same thing.  This time she replied a few days later and told me she was working on it.  Last Tuesday which was 20 days after we returned I sent her another email and let her know that telling me she's working on it is not telling me what the status is and I would appreciate it if she would let me know the status of the credit as well as the promotion.  She replied on Wednesday and said she had to check with the office and asked if I could give her until Thursday to find out.  I never received a response so on Monday I sent an email to the manager. By Tuesday when I didn't get a response from that I called the office and spoke to the manager who told me she was working on it and would probably have an answer later in the day.  So yesterday I get an email from my TA saying that the office reviewed my contract and found that I didn't qualify for the resort credit or the BGSF promotion because it wasn't written in my contract.  Furthermore, she said I wouldn't have qualified anyway because I needed 26 rooms for the BGSF promotion and I only had 25 rooms.  I hit the roof!!!!!!  If I have a TA and there's something that I qualify for that needs to be written in a contract, isn't it her responsibility to put it in the contract????  It literally took me 2 hours to send a response to her email because all I could think of to write at first were curse words.  This is really unbelievable to me.  I asked her if the resort had me listed as being under the BGSF promotion why wouldn't I qualify for it?  Of course she hasn't replied.  I plan to contact the manager but I was still angry today so I couldn't deal with it.

So to all you B2Bs please make sure any promotion your TA says you're eligible for is written into your contract.  Apparently an email from the TA saying you're qualified and they received approval isn't enough and even if they list on your website that you and your guests will get a credit if they book by a certain time, that's not valid either unless it's in your contract.

I am sooo sorry to hear about your loss. I cannot imagine the emotions you guys are going through. If you need any help, please let me know. My wedding is only a month before yours so if you need anything, let me know.

For a minute I was expecting to have to postpone our wedding and/or change plans all together since it was such a shock, but FI is on board with continuing with our plans as is. So,  forgive me if I beat a dead horse and comment on things that have been resolved, etc.

Jamie,

Thanks for taking so many great pictures. I am about to make the last minute changes to our wedding details before our final payment is due and saw your suggestion about using the yoga area for the dance floor. Is that beach area nice? I saw your comment about the beach bbq area being the best, private location for the wedding reception... what do you think? I am planning to have the beach wedding & reception and do not have a good idea what it's going to look like. I am guessing they do not want to have the ceremony and reception at the same location... but not sure exactly where. Thanks for the help!

No worries. You will know it when you see it. Say YES to the dress :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
