I honestly don't think FI and I are going to go past $10K...with a majority being spent on us and our room.

We are not planning on a private event...we are not bringing a photographer with us...we are keeping our guest list super short to immediate family and close close friends only....

We are looking into a group event (really want to do the catamaran cruise) and trying to find the best deal on those...but since I have so much time..I don't have a clue how many people will be there yet.

So...if you plan on having a full on wedding with a lot of people...then yes...your budget will be a LOT higher...but if you go for bare minimum and basics...you can get away with under $10K

My point exactly ladies!  It's impossible to give an accurate estimate of a budget since we all define our budgets differently.  Our wedding was very bare bones, nothing fancy, immediate family only (28 ppl total), and we came out to about 15K.  But I included EVERYTHING in my budget including all 10 days at the resort, flights, my dress, rings, insurance, all the wedding stuff, and on and on.

So I just found out I get to do a food tasting for a few private event menu items on Thursday!  I've been fighting for this since beginning of July and finally got it approved...woohoo!  My FILs are foodies, so the thought of us selecting our menu without trying it was killing them.  What a relief.  I have no idea how organized its going to be, or if they will charge me anything...but I'll let you know the scoop when I get back.

That's awesome! Please let us know how it goes. I would love to hear how the food looks and tastes.

FI was a former chef...so he's a huge foodie! One of the main reasons we picked the Sensatori in the first place. Overall the food is really good, especially for an all inclusive!

Jamie,

I would love to see some pictures of the beach reception area. I was told there were palm trees around but I don't know how many or how tall it is. I am debating on the lights on the palm trees or lantern lights around the area or BOTH!  Thanks for offering to help!!! I hope you enjoy your stay at AS!!!

Certainly!

I think there are 2 (maybe 3) options for beach reception.  Do you know how many guests you will have?  I can take pictures of both locations just in case.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
