Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Don't be sad.  When they start joining they are going to be extremely impressed/jealous with how far along you are!

I was actually the first 2011 bride for quite some time (dates been set since January).  Kinda the main reason I didn't get involved until recently.  I was so far behind everyone, I was just getting lost :(.  You are so on top of things, I need to take planning tips from you!

I'm not sure how many of you were interested in lanterns but my FI and I recently went to Chinatown in San Francisco and stumbled upon a store that sold lanterns of all shapes and sizes at really low prices. I had never seen the star shaped lanterns (not that I have been doing much online wedding prep lately) and think I might be leaning in that direction. Mostly, I was impressed with their variety and prices. I will try to post some photos below and if you are interested, please let me know. We go there frequently and will surely go within the next month or so if anyone who is not marrying immediately is interested. I tried to take pics of the prices so you Ladies could get an idea of the value.

Wow! Great shots. I am doing the laterns too. Hopefully I'll get down to our 'chinatown' soon and get the same types of bargains. If not I might be sending an order your way LOLcheesy.gif

And big news girls,  I BOUGHT MY DRESS TODAY!  It is beautiful and I am so excited for my wedding now.  :o)

Congrats on finding your dress! Can't wait to see pictures.

We have been planning since January too....I only found this forum in late May. It has been so helpful...wish I had found it sooner.

What do you have left to do?

Thanks for the review! I am so glad you had a wonderful time. How crazy that your guests got to stay at presidential suite!!!

The photos are from Caribe photo.  This should give all you girls who are just using the photographer that they provide with the wedding package an idea of their work. We booked the gold wedding package and the photographer was part of that.  He was with us for an hour, starting from the Ceremony.  We did think about paying extra and getting more time but, in the end, we didn't bother, because a friend/guest was going to be doing photos for us as a wedding gift and we just let him do the photos throughout the reception etc.

They did a great job, however, don't expect anything artistic or anything like that.  I can't help feeling a little envious when I see some other peoples photos, because as much as I love mine, it's the "what could have been" that goes through my head!  I know I sound like a right moany cow, but I'm not, honest!  I'm just being as honest as I can with you, so you know what to expect.

I do sort of wish we had paid extra to have the photographer there longer.  Am not sure if they would have done better photos if he'd had more time.  My husband gets annoyed at me when I say this, 'cause he thinks they're fab considering we got it as part of the package!

I have stuck most of my photos in my album on here, think if you click on my profile pic, it should take you there?

Thanks for the suggestion. Never thought about playing music while taking pictures.

Have fun at your honeymoon!!!

Ladies - I leave for our long awaited honeymoon Saturday!  I am sooooo excited!  Excellence PLaya Mujeres here we come!!!

I am getting married in October and been looking for lanterns. I am very interested.

Have you guys heard of flying lanterns? FLYING LANTERNS

I am sure if I can picture lanterns floating around... what do you think?

Great job so far Amanda!  I can't wait to see your wedding pics :-)

So, in regards to what you are deciding on now and paying for......  Make sure you bring down color copies of everything you have on your spreadsheet.  I think it works like this: you give your WC a picture of what you want and they use it to get a price quote from lomas.  I do not think that picture goes to your Lomas WC at AS.  Soooooo make sure you have pictures of your cake, flowers, table set up, etc etc etc to give to your WC.  And while you are at it, make 2 copies - 1 for Lomas WC and 1 for Azul WC.

Music - make sure you burn CDs for all of your music.  I would also burn them for the music your DJ is supposed to play, just in case they do not have your first dance song.  They had everything for me correct, but I wanted to be on the safe side.  I also came down with all of the playlists on my iPod so if worst came to worst, I could give my iPod to someone.

We actually created our seating arrangements in Mexico.  We oragnized the name cards and gave them to the WCs at our wedding meeting.

We LOVE Alicia! I think we are going to enter the recpetion to Alicia's "No One"...you know the part when the best pics up? Upbeat, fun and romantic. Perfect! I think you made a great choice. Also, thanks so much for the suggestions about music. I would not have thought about music for after. So helpful. Did you have the pre wedding music, processional, recessional and milling/photo music on separate CDs? Or was the onsite WC on it? Could I put it all on one CD and make a list of what should be played when? Also, I am getting married on the Sky Deck, do you think that will make a difference for photos after?

Honestly you can never go wrong with Stevie Wonder no matter how long the song is!  But for something a little different I like Catpower's cover of "Sea of Love", only 2 minutes long or so, check it out on itunes...

Stevie is AMAZING! Thanks for the encouragement. We will probably go that route. Although last night I found an instrumental version of the Beatles song we were going to play for when the birdal party enters. I might walk in to that. Also love the Princess Bride love story song but FI thinks people will think that is cheese. I know a lot of people love that movie but wasnt one of my fav growing up so I suppose I dont have the same association he does. I guess we'll skip it.

I bought centerpieces for 10 tables and paid $70 all together.  The cheapest centerpiece the resort offered was $50 each.  I thought that was just too much.

Wow, that's great. Can I ask what you did? Do you have pics?

Amanda!!!!!  Oh my gosh 41 days!!!!!!  How exciting!  Now that the tickers are gone we don't get to see the countdowns anymore.

I'd say you've pretty much got the To Do's covered!  I can't think of anything you're missing.  Except maybe scheduling a massage for yourself right before you go wink.gif  Oh, don't forget to make your final beauty treatments appointments if you need them: hair cut/color, nails, and wax.

Good call! Thanks for the advice.

I also did another thing that needed to be done! Scheduled my legall ceremony. We live in LA but are going to a court house in wine country when we get back. Staying at a bed and breakfast there for a couple of days. Should be nice!

I love, love, love Stevie!!!  I came in to "You and I" and it wasn't cheesy!!!!! LOL  We had them start the song and then rose petals were put down so I basically didn't start walking until the second verse.  It wasn't too long and the WC's will fade the music if you want them to. I like "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" as an exit song.  Our first dance was "Knocks Me Off My Feet".

We might have the same song! Can I ask how you timed it out? Did you do the whole song? If I do it, I think I will cut it some.

We had the hostesses come down and spread rose petals when the song first started so I believe I entered around the end of the first verse.  By the time I got to the gazebo it was the end of the second verse. I was a little upset becasue I specifically told the WCs to play that song all the way through but they faded it out when I got to the gazebo.  I think they did it because I was running so late and the minister and videographer had another wedding they had to get to.

For the centerpiece I went to Michaels and bought 10 round mirrors that were $1.99 each, 10 pink candles for $3.99 each and 2 bags of seashells for $6.99 each.  They were very simple but things like centerpieces aren't very important to me.  Here's a pic:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
