Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Thanks for all the lovely comments!  Sorry, I'm not sure how to do the "quote" and "multi quote" thing yet!

The photos are from Caribe photo.  This should give all you girls who are just using the photographer that they provide with the wedding package an idea of their work. We booked the gold wedding package and the photographer was part of that.  He was with us for an hour, starting from the Ceremony.  We did think about paying extra and getting more time but, in the end, we didn't bother, because a friend/guest was going to be doing photos for us as a wedding gift and we just let him do the photos throughout the reception etc.

They did a great job, however, don't expect anything artistic or anything like that.  I can't help feeling a little envious when I see some other peoples photos, because as much as I love mine, it's the "what could have been" that goes through my head!  I know I sound like a right moany cow, but I'm not, honest!  I'm just being as honest as I can with you, so you know what to expect.

I do sort of wish we had paid extra to have the photographer there longer.  Am not sure if they would have done better photos if he'd had more time.  My husband gets annoyed at me when I say this, 'cause he thinks they're fab considering we got it as part of the package!

I have stuck most of my photos in my album on here, think if you click on my profile pic, it should take you there?

Shannon, I think your photos are great!!  I've actually been too nervous to book Caribe because of mixed reviews, but after seeing your pictures, I'm going to send in my request today!  Your right, they aren't crazy artistic, but I think the price/quality match and I would be thrilled if mine turned out like yours (and had $ leftover for other things!)

Did you have one or two photographers?  I was considering doing the 5 hour package and order a second photographer during the ceremony.

Shannon...your photos are beautiful...they do make me feel better about using Caribe...

Jaime..I was thinking the same as you...nervous about using them..

If I happen to win the lottery..I would LOVE to hire an outside photographer...but caribe is so reasonable and the pictures are good...

FI has his bachelor party this weekend. Here's hoping I can get a ton done while being home alone with a wild little 13 month old. :)

Wish me luck!

Wow, you have done a ton of work. And even though there's some left, you should manage it no problems! Only thing I would possibly add...check now that your passports are good to go. And getting any medications you may need to take with you. Good luck and keep us posted!

Funny your guests will be travelling w us!   I think we are at 30+ and counting leaving the same day - but I haven't checked with the agent - just going by the replies!  Did you meet any others travelling to our resort the same time?   We are a pretty crazy bunch - look forward to having a tequila or two on the beach!!!

We booked with Weddings By Oceans. We will be using Lomas for the decor at the wedding gazebo and flowers. But since FI and I are heading down a couple of days early, we had planned on buying some simple decorations to use as centerpieces. Much cheaper than what they offered. I will find out how much they will charge to set up. We are also bringing down paper laterns to decorate the area (the plan is 30, in turquoise, lime and white-10 of each). Right now I think we have about 21 guests out of Toronto, the rest from other locations. Can't wait! We'll talk more about sharing stuff!

Does anyone have the most current wedding date list?  I canâ€t seem to find it, and Iâ€ve gone backwards quite a few pages!   Iâ€ll be at Azul next weekend, and Iâ€m interested to know if anyone on the forum will be having their wedding!

Also, does anyone have anything they need me to check on or take pictures of while Iâ€m there?

(Not that I actually have...in fact, to be very honest, I am sort lost not sure what I need to do next and thus, have been ignoring the wedding.)

I am trying to catch up on everyone's posts but here's a little info that I can share off the top of my head.

A wedding between 10 and 20 is so doable. You need to work it but so doable. I am having 65 ppl and am doing the sky deck, cocktail reception, recpetion, dj, centerpieces, you name it and at just under 17,000 with travel and group excursion included. But when I say you must work it, I mean it. I pushed and pushed for every discount I could get. Ultimately, I got the free wedding package, the bride and groom stay free promotion, free cocktail reception, 20% off all food and $10 chivalri chairs. (Please don't rat me out about the chairs, this was a hard one and one I really pushed for.)

For those of you who have made decisions on decor and flowers, congrats! One thing, make sure you are running those pics past your WC and asking for a quote from Lomas. I thought I had a lot of things nailed down and when I get an official quote had to make some changes. In fact, I am still working out the centerpieces. And my final payment is technically due tomorrow.

Great to know about the hair. I am getting my hair done there even though the price is very steep. I am going to practice with a bridesmaid and maybe she'll be able to pull it off for me. That would be great.

Ok, so for you ladies who have already been married, please let me know what I need to be working on! I think next step is picking music, writing the ceremony and figuring out seating arrangmenets. Here is what I HAVE done in the past few weeks:

Amanda!!!!!  Oh my gosh 41 days!!!!!!  How exciting!  Now that the tickers are gone we don't get to see the countdowns anymore.

I'd say you've pretty much got the To Do's covered!  I can't think of anything you're missing.  Except maybe scheduling a massage for yourself right before you go wink.gif  Oh, don't forget to make your final beauty treatments appointments if you need them: hair cut/color, nails, and wax.

These make me feel better about Caribe as well. 2 of my guests are professional photographers but I wanted to make sure they have a good time too so I got one of the smaller Caribe packages as well. I think they look great!

I think I know what we are doing for the wedding party's entrance, The Beatles' "In my life". Thought about making my entrance to a cut version of Stevie Wonder's "You and I" but not sure if that would be cheesy....or worse, too long! Nothing worse than stalling down the aisle to make sure the lyrics time out. Then as we exit the sky deck, I think we might do Stevie's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered". It's such an upbeat happy song, we love Stevie and it suits the occasion...but I am hesitant...too many lyrics? What did you do? Thanks!

My SIL adapted our ceremony music to the violin.  I walked down to "She" by Elvis Costello.  Our recessional was "Kahala March" by the Ali'i Luau.  Our first song was "Lucky" by Kat Edmonson (she's local to Austin).

Nichole and the list are MIA.  Off the top of my head I can't think of any Labor Day weekend brides.  Fun for you!!!  Have you been before?

We only had one photographer.  Again, this is because you get the bare bones when you are just using the package deal and not paying yourself.  If you were paying yourself, Im sure there will be a whole range of options available! xx

For info, they also have a facebook page.  If you put in Caribe photo into the search section of face book, you will be able to see pages and pages of pictures. x

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
