Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

Just got back from vacay... oh my goodness you ladies were busy!!  I'm going to go back and try to skim through all the posts to catch up but please forgive me in advance if I miss out on anything and therefore re-ask things or comment needlessly.  cheesy.gif

Hey Chong

Just thought I'd voice an idea on the guest book thing.  It's not really DW focused or anything (and would require someone to be "in charge" of the carry-on. .... But I'm planning to probably do a clay platter for a guest book.  Everyone signs it with permanent markers and when you get home you bake them in the oven to set it all.

I'm pretty into cooking and so it would be something I would hang on the wall in my kitchen and would be a nice personal day-to-day reminder. (As opposed to a guestbook that I will probably rarely ever look at again).  Just another idea for ya.

I got less than a month to finish up last minute stuff and I have not decided on what to do. Any suggestions? Am I over-thinking this?

Hmm.. not sure why your quote is not coming up...

Thanks for the suggestions. After I read your post, I wrote an email to my TA asking if the meals for photographers are included in the "package" since we are using the resort's recommended vendor. She said it's included in the price!!! No additional fee. I feel much better about it.

Now.. I need to figure out if we want to take pictures before the ceremony in case we don't feel like we are going to have enough time to take all the pictures. We don't want our guests to wait too long...

Sounds like I will have time to lunch before getting ready for the big day... I still haven't figure out the makeup thing yet. I really need to get on that.

Hi Girlies...

I took someones advice and I have been reading old posts...started at 400 and Im at like 550 now

its taking me foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrr!  but im learning a lot!

quick question about photogs

are we allowed to use a mexico photographer(not on their list) if we pay the 500??

i read somewhere that the outside photog cannot be mexico based?

but then i saw weddings with mexico photogs, like elizabeth medina

also, who are their photogs?  caribe, matias  and claudia?  some ppl are saying shes on, others say she's not.

Thanks a bunch!

Welcome back! Hope you had a blast. Very unique idea about the guest book.

When I signed my contract Caribe and Matias were the only resort photogs available that you did not have to pay the putside vendor fee for. I know that some brides have used Mexican photogs prior to this and even more recently. I would say ask for whoever you want and try to negotiate even if they say no at first. Just be prepared to pay the $500 or have them stay 3 nights. Pricewise, for us it didn't make sense so we're bringing one from The States, but maybe you can find one you like that they'll approve.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
