I have mixed feelings about them in general (ie I think they're a waste of money and a simple basket placed out would suffice just fine).  Also, I'm not keen on trying to bring down extra stuff - so unless the cardbox were to fold down etc. for travel then I'm disinclined.

However, what about security (a friend of mine says its something I need to consider)?  Do card boxes actually make it less likely that someone would go by and steal cards?  Couldn't someone just then take the whole box?

But... it's an outside venue at a resort with a lot of other people who could maybe lurk and grab?

What are people thinking of doing?  What did you married ladies do?  Does the resort have a cardbox you can use?  Did you set up your gift table well "within" the space where your reception was so that it was safer?  Am I totally just over thinking something that's a non-issue?

I just worry about it because I imagine that if anyone brings anything gift-wise to the wedding it would likely be cards (hopefully, since I don't really want to lug wedding gifts home from Mexico  haha).

We got three cards and only one of those was given to us at the reception.  The other two were brought to our room.  I probably wouldn't worry about getting a card box.  I asked my mother beforehand to hold any cards we got.  Maybe you can do something like that and then put them in the room safe when you get them.

All the dresses, including mine came from David's Bridal.  The pink is called Candy Pink but I think they're discontinuing that color.

This is definitely good to know and be aware of... but just realize that doesn't mean they are going out of business or stopping flights. Filing bankruptcy doesn't necessarily mean the business has closed it's doors.

Awww, I know how that feels girl. Can it be replicated for you by a seamstress? I actualy found a dress that wasn't available except in Chicago and it would be hundreds to ship it out just to try it on and contacted someone about making the dress for me and it was far cheaper.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
