Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Meredith,

I totally agree with Chong's suggestion here about maybe having a "party" rather than an official AHR.  I think that's what we'll end up doing.  Because I'm sure it would be wonderful for you to be able to share your photos etc. with those who want to see them and were unable to make it to Mexico.  But, it would save a lot of the stress and cost of officially calling it an AHR and all that that would therefore involve.

Hope that whatever you end up doing you are equally happy as your FI and your MIL with the decision

We could have a BIG wedding with everyone back in Baltimore but that's just not what we wanted. I do think a small party with people who want to come for Mardi Gras and see you guys all at the same time can work out. You can show all your wedding pictures and just PARTY. It doesn't have to an official AHR.

Hopefully you can make up your mind and don't stress out about this anymore. You have the wedding to plan!!!

Amy's suggestions is bang on!!  I've been searching through the forum for some song lists as well *(actually for a friend's wedding at this point, not my own).  If you go to the general thread and then there's a music thread in there somewhere.  People have great lists and quite varied taste in music so it can help you with LOTS of ideas.

Chong, the brochures look GREAT - awesome job!!

Meredith, sooo exciting you decided to do the BD  shoot!  I don't think I'd ever have the gumption to do it myself.  So I'll continue to live vicariously through all you brave ladies!!   Hope you have as much fun in the photo session as I'm sure he'll have when you give it to him.  msnwink.gif

These look great! Looking at yours I see some things that I left off mine and am really bummed about it. But I'm pretty sure I have most everything there. I should be receiving mine any day now. I can't wait!

I went to my first dress fitting yesterday. The woman was great..in fact I think she did Christina Ageulera's (sic) alterations. At least that is what it said on her site. Anyway, she quoted me 1100 for the alterations. Bummer. I almost cried. I did get a steal n my dress because I got it at a designer sample sale store. When I bought it the sales girl told me the alterations would be an easy fix (Like $400 or so) and I thought she'd be right. Such a bummer....now I am desperatley trying to find someone to do my alterations in my price range. It's just scary because I want my dress to be in good hands. Wish me luck ladies.

Ouch!!  That's a hefty price tag.  I feel sure you can get it done for less...If this lady is advertising that she does alterations for celebrities then she's probably not the most economical.  Good luck!!

I feel the same way your FI does sometimes. You don't know how many people don't even know how much it would have cost them to come because they just wrote it off without looking into it. I'm kinda glad you put it like that because that makes me not feel so bad. We chose a DW b/c it was going to be too expensive to have the wedding I wanted for 200 ppl PLUS I just didn't want it to be a spectacle. It sucks that only 7 of you family members are going, but I still don't think that's something that you should/would regret. I know I won't. Thanks for the insight!

Now, for the fun stuff....I looked @ Banyan Tree last night and fell in love!! I swore off TripAdvisor just because of the misleading stuff they were saying about AS, but I guess I can check it out for this wink.gif. I have to work on getting FI on board with this. We were not planning to take a honeymoon until next year, so if the AHR is off we should be able to go where we really want to go!! I tried to get him on board with Zoetry a couple months ago and he looked at me funny blush2.gif

Keep me posted on whether you choose it tho. Maybe if he shoots me down I can live vicariously through you!!

HAAHAHAHAHAHA YESS im trying to get mines on board too ...its between that and the Excellence which now doesnt seem as nice since its not a villa LOLOLOL. I told him the same thing we can just cut back on some of the none needed stuff for the wedding and spend it there LOLOLOL I'll keep you posted! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
