I used my wedding dress but didn't actually "trash" it.  I refused to put such a beautiful dress in the water, and now I have twice the pictures in my original dress!

A lot of brides wait for David's Bridal's $99 sales and get their TTDs then.  You can also search the For Sale threads on here.  Lots of gals offer up their dresses for great prices to be used as TTDs.

I think the dress is nice. I LOVE the color. And $30 is a GREAT price!!! It's your wedding! You get to decide what dress you want them to wear :)

Was looking to get an opinion on this dress.  I think it's the perfect color, totally cute, inexpensive, and to top it off it's ID number is the same as my FI's work ID - mean to be!  But, one of my BM's said it's not very beachy.  I think it looks like a BM's dress though.

Thoughts???

Jaime, can this really be applied to the wedding? Would you please send me more info on this? We will be at AS for 10 days so we don't mind 2 hr tour to save 50% of our hotel cost. Thanks! I will PM you with my email address.

Hey girls, sorry I’m not on here much, but I had to chime in on Julia’s comment (hopefully I figured out how to "quote" correctly!) …My fiance and I actually joined Exotic Travelers during our site visit in March!  It just made sense to join for our wedding/honeymoon, then we will use it for traveling for many years to come.  If any of you are planning a site visit before your wedding, I’d be more than happy to let you use my “Friends in Paradise”.  I wouldn’t recommend using it during your wedding since there is a 2 hour tour, but if your interested in going anytime before that it will save you 50%!  Just let me know if your interested and I’ll send let you know the details.

Happy Planning!

Jaime

We confirmed our date in May, and I literally just got my first email from our WC two nights ago. Not sure if that's normal...but that's how it has worked for me so far. And our wedding date is January 24, 2011.

I love the color. It's so hard to choose things online. But if your BMs think they would look good in it...I say go for it!

And the VIP ocean front suite with outdoor jacuzzi is only $100/per couple more than a standard jacuzzi suite at the El Dorado Maroma.  Easy decision for me!

We viewed the Excellence Riviera Cancun when we were down there doing site inspections. It was stunning. I would consider vacationing there anytime. FI and I stayed at Excellence in Dominican Republic and it was wonderful. I can only imagine the one in the Mayan could only be better cheesy.gif

Even switching to a Premium Swim Up Suite to still get the Free Sweet Wedding...we will be saving about $100 (not a lot but that's another hundred for something else).

Has anyone stayed at EDR?  I'm thinking this will make me (us) happy because it is a change of venue...no kids.....But still Karisma :)

Thank you so much Jaime!  You are AWESOME!

We stayed at EDR Casitis. It was amazing. Would highly recommend it as a honeymoon location.

Quick Question....does AS have a certain schedule for the Beach BBQs?  Are they every day?  Once a week?  Just for dinner?

If I remember correctly, they offered beach BBQ lunch everyday from 12-3pm. It was mostly hamburgers, chicken, a few salads, fries, etc. Hope that helps.

I plan on using my actual wedding dress. But then again, I don't really plan on doing much with my dress after the fact. I think it's really a personal preference. But I do know most girls who wear their dresses into the water, say it really doesn't seem to harm them. Just hang them in the shower after and rinse, and then let air dry. Most times the dresses where cleaner than before :)

Congrats on the magazine article. It's so neat to see your wedding being showcased.

And I hope you feel better soon. And that the work stress passes quickly.hug2.gif

RSVP Question.

Hey ladies,

So our invitations are going to print, the final thing I need to choose is the RSVP date.  Our wedding is April, the price I have for my guests is only guaranteed for 30 and we are inviting 50+ so not putting a price.  I have no idea when to tell them to RSVP by.  Any suggestions??  We have 22 people coming already and that's immediate family and bridal party, so it will be a suprise who else comes.  I figure some people are all talk and no action.  What did you put for RSVP's?  Thank you!!

p.s going wedding dress shopping tonight, so excited!!cheesy.gif

I am not sure if there is a right or wrong answer here. I basically planned on including a card in my invitations a RSVP regrets only card with no date. I went back and forth about it. I decided I would just communicate with my guests about the importance of booking early and like you I already have deposits down for the family and some close friends.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
