Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Thank you ladies for all the reassurance about the cocktail party. :o

How long did it take everyone to get confirmation on your date when you sent in the deposit form?  They were quick to let us know the dates available and to hold one but once I sent them my money, no more communication!  WTH??  My FI won't do any further planning or talking without that confirmation so I'm kind of stuck.  Then, my WC told me that they only allow so many groups at a time so I have to do that soon.  I wanted to wait a month or so to do the groups b/c I figured that would be a good time for people to book (when all the airlines have their prices out and all).  Ugh, I'm feeling very pressured to make many important decisions all at once and I want (and I believe am going to) take my time!

Ahh, okay I feel better now.  Oh, and I'm going to the Running of the Brides tomorrow!  Please cross your fingers for me that I find my perfect dress!! :o)  That would just make my day!

For the 20% you get it off food and drink. That includes the wedding cake.

You can have you're ceremony flowers transfered for sure. That'll just be part of your set up fee (probably around $100 depending on what you have to set up.) In an effort to save money, I am having actual bouquets hang from the chairs at the ceremony lining the aisle. Those flowers will be tied loosely with a gold ribbon. When it is time for the reception, my WC will move them to Zavaz Plaza and place them in the gold blume boxes I've bought. And there you go I have centerpieces. They are charging me $60 per bouquet and most of the centerpieces are listed as $100 so I think it's a good deal.

Great idea ~ just may have to steal this one :o

Well we went about it backwards I guess. I wanted to work out the group rate and make sure I liked it first before I put the deposit down on the date. I think our timeline went

1. We got the group rate July 8th

2. We put in for the date with money July13th

3. We  got confirmation on date and time on July 16th

4. I put in for confirmation on my reception location on July 20th

5. We signed our group contract with blocked rooms on July 22nd and they charge my card for the deposits on the block of rooms July 26th

6. I got confirmation on my reception yesterday July 28th

7. I am still waiting on confirmation for photographer and Welcome Party Location

Hope that helps!

5.

I do not think spending the money on a cocktail party is worth it at all.  We got married on the beach, and then had our reception at Zavaz Plaza.  They had a little bar set up right there, so everyone was able to drinks while we had our photos done (we were not told that this would happen so it was a nice surprise!).  When guests got to the resort, we gave them a program saying what time they needed to be at Zavaz Plaza for the reception.  So, if people chose to go to their rooms or walk on the beach instead of going right to zavaz plaza, they knew what time to be back for.  Everyone was there on time, and everyone got to have drinks at the location while we had our photos done.  I would have been upset if I had paid for a cocktail reception knowing that all our guests were able to get drinks at our reception location anyway!

Thanks!!  So nice to know that they could get drinks right by the reception area too (we're also going with Plaza Zavaz).  That way I'll suggest people mill around there rather than head over to a different lounge etc.  I will definitely put it in the program that they need to be at the reception for a certain "start" time.

Agreed!  And my TA isn't much help because she just says "oh, it's because your guests are getting such a good deal on their rate"?!?  WTF that does not help ME out.  If I hadn't gotten good price quotes for our guests originally, I wouldn't have gone with this hotel!  blush2.gif

oooh Running of the Brides - so fun!  Good luck.  I have a friend who got a Vera Wang $5K dress for like $400!!  Are you bringing friends?  She said that was KEY because they all grabbed as many dresses in her size as they could find!!

Hope you have luck - and if not luck in the dress then at least fun from the experience.  smile29.gif

Oh yeah I was in a wedding last October - I was the Maid OH and there was a Matron OH too and then 5 BMs.  The 2 MOHs wore champagne colored dresses and the other BMs wore chocolate brown.  The pictures were awesome!  Have different colors look great.  One of my BMs told me last night (the pink dress one) that she was very apprehensive about me letting all the girls choose colors and fabrics and styles and textures for the BM dresses.  But, after the wedding and esp after the pictures she thought it looked amazing.

As long as you pick a dress that looks good on the different sizes & shapes of BMs, then it will all look awesome.  At AS or AB, it all looks awesome anyways ;)

Oh yeah, a peacock feather theme/accent/inspiration was so cool!

Oh right... I remember all that now.  I love your dresses!  They're going to look awesome.  I have tonnes of time still (May 27, 2011) so I'll be sure to think on it for a bit too.  And I too think the peacock feather idea is a GREAT inspiration. Thanks so much for your input!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
