It says we have to wash our hair before coming to the salon. Is this true, anyone? they don't wash our hair???

Thanks. That's so steep. But what's new with AS? They actually have a package that include hair, make-up, make-up trial and pedicure for like 220. Since I won't need the make up or makeup trial I am going to se if they will swap that for two more updos. Hopefully they will go for that. I really want to pick this up for the girls so here's hoping they'll go along with it.

Also, not sure about the washing before you come; however, your hair will hold so much better if it is not freshly washed. I would wash it the day before and have them work with your dirty hair. I bet it will actually hold and probably look better. That's probably what I will do.

Well if we still had the ticker mine would say "3 DAYS!!!!"  I can't believe it's here already.  We're on the way to the courthouse now to do the legal ceremony and then we leave for Mexico early tomorrow morning.  I've been packing and getting everything together which is why I haven't been on here in a week but we're pretty much ready to go.  I forgot to take pictures of everything for my planning thread before I packed it so I guess I'll take pictures in Mexico when we unpack.

Adios Ladies!!!!  I'll definitely post some info when I get back.

BTW:  Amybermuda I loved, loved, loved your pics!!!!!

elefant.gifSo exciting!! Congrats MRS.!! Have a great time!!

I was worried about by colors being too dark also, but like Amanda, I didn't really want my colors to be tropical. So, I'm trying to lighten up my colors with other things like their bouquets and other decor. I guess if you look at my pics and think everything is too dark you'll know what NOT to do. So...there is more $$$ saved...so..if you are starying more than 7 nights in a different type room..I would ask and see if they'll give it to you too...

Sorry you had a crappy morning hug2.gifBUT it's amazing that you got the Free Wedding AND are staying at AS for 14 days!! Has anyone else stayed that long?!

I'm going to try, but I can see that not happening for me easily.

Amanda, you are like the Queen of Savings! Who is your TA if you don't mind me asking? I'm going to ask but I'm thinking it won't fly.

I missed a few that arrived early but I just called the front desk, found their room and walked it over to them.

Very good idea, thanks for the tip! You're like Martha Stewart when it comes to organization!

So, I found BM dresses that I really like and there are 2 colors that I like - turquoise and purple.  I thought that it might be cool to have 1/2 and 1/2 (I have 6 in my bridal party... huge, I know)...  Then I was worried that 2 colors would be too busy (although I like the look of them together) and that I'd go with purple and then use turquoise as an accent color.

Since then 2 of the BMs have voted turquoise (I was surprised), 2 don't care and 2 haven't been canvassed.  Long story long - do you think having both purple AND turquoise BM dresses is too much?!  If so.... would you vote all purple or turquoise?  (the purple is called "plum" - but it's not nearly that dark).

Here's a link to the dresses if you're interested.  The style is BM1277 but the colors I'm looking at are the "plum" and "turquoise".

Thanks for your opinions.  Sorry so long!

Very cute dresses. I am doing two colors for my BMs dresses too and I can understand your hesitation. I went back and forth about it but in the process of me deciding I had my sister (MOH) say that she was hooked on the purple I picked out and didn't want to change and I had my friend (BM) say that she thought she would look good in the bronze....so I decided to put my MOH and MtOH in one color and the BMs in another. I have 5 girls so don't feel bad. I actually was supposed to have 6 but you may have seen my post about my lovely "friend" that declined. (Back to topic) I LOVE the purple and turquoise together and was about to switch my colors (I like the way peacock feathers tie in with it) but my friend had already purchased her bronze dress. So, once again, if you look at my pics (not sure how much time you have since we don't have tickers) and don't like the dresses in two different colors, you know what NOT to do. Lol!

Yeah, the new layout is throwing a lot of us for a loop but I guess we just have to adjust. I can understand you being M.I.A. Your time is fastly approaching. Do you need help with anything or do you pretty much have most of it done?

That's not a bad idea. I am still debating on my make-up :( I am not so confident that I will be successful at this by myself.

Oh Chong...what time are your events? And what time are you getting ready? Are using the bridal suite? I wonder if we'll have any overlap.

Our wedding is at 530pm and we are planning to take some pictures before the ceremony (maybe for an hour). I have not decide on the time but I am thinking maybe 230pm? Assuming that it takes no more than an hour to get my hair ready, it will give me some time to maybe do my makeup and then get ready for our early rendezvou around 430ish?!?

I am not planning to use the bridal suite so feel free to have it all to yourself! It says that you can only have 4 ppl at time (3 others beside you). I want my family and friends to drop by and help me get ready. So I decided to get ready in one of the rooms.

No way about the colors. I am sure that they are perfect. Where are your pics? I want to see them!

Thanks, I am really trying to keep my wedding around budget. At first I thought we could do it for 13k and then it was around 20K. With some smart switches and some very persistant asks, I've saved some money and am back down to about 15k. That includes our travel and stay, my dress, etc... so for 70ish people, I can live with that.

My TA is Camille Hutchinson with DW.com. Honestly I have had a ton of issues with her. She's the exact opposite of Amy in the organization and communication dept and it has been really tough to deal with. I have had to stay on her to get me the things I want but ultimately when my WC tells me no, I go to Camille and she has worked it out. So at least she does that!

Can you share info if you have any success with this?  I'd like to pay for the girls hair too - but I'm afraid $85 plus tip for 6 girls might be out of the budget.  If we can get a "package" for a bunch that might be workable.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
