Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

For anyone (basically I think I'm asking Nicole) that didn't have a private event and did the included dinner in the wedding package...did you do your own decorations for the tables or only what the restaurant had?  I'm debating whether or not to do centerpieces and some kind of decorations to make it a little more personal and to incorporate the wedding colors (which FI did like...thank you bigboponbeach AGAIN for the inspiration boards).

Thanx :)

Adios Ladies!!!!  I'll definitely post some info when I get back.

Congrats on booking Laurern1564!  Welcome ~ I'm still a newbie myself and on the learning curve as well :o

I am using BestDestinationWeddings.com for a travel agent and they offer the incentives amandamarieb mentioned above.

I do have a question regarding the bride and groom stay free though - my FI and I are interested in a premium suite but I'm wondering how that works with the B&G staying free.  I would assume the free room would only apply to a standard room but I will look into it with my TA and let you all know when I find out.  If anyone knows now and could let me know, that would be fabulous too!  We would like to get the stay for free and maybe just pay the difference in rooms if possible.

Thanks!!

I can answer that for you. The "free" part of hte package is the minimum number of nights booked by any guest in the lowest room category and they you have to pay the difference. We havea guest satying for 3 nights in the cheapest room. I think that was $467 and then multiply that number by 2 (since it is bride and groom stay free) and you can subtract that from the toal you owe from your room.It is important to note that the discount is a refund after your stay and not a true discount. Not amazing, but hey I'll take it...another $950 saved!

So...there is more $$$ saved...so..if you are starying more than 7 nights in a different type room..I would ask and see if they'll give it to you too...

Sorry about the boss but great about the other news.

I am not sure I folloe the 15 guests room nights wherever. What does that mean if you don't mind me asking?

Meredith, to qualify for the room upgrade all you should have to do is participate in the Webinar.  Unless the rules have changed since we did it.

Thanks.

And Meredith, yes that's what we did. We were already booked but we particpated and got an upgrade. Ask your TA about it.

And yes, I am doing our meet-up on Thursday night at the beach BBQ. Most of my guests will be in by then and Thursday is my birthday so that's perfect. Yeah I was planning to ask a BM to make tags for everyone like "Laura, Cousin of the Bride" and "Brett, Groom's Childhood Friend" that way everyone knows what to talk about with each other. (Ha...that's assuming that they only want to talk about us. So vain and presumptious) Also planning to have another BM (FI's sister) pass out the OOT bags and weekend itinerary at the BBQ that way we don't have to pay Lomas to do it. Speaking of, how did you handle that? Did they pass out at check-in, did you do it yourself?

I made a spreadsheet of everyone with the day they were arriving and their flight arrival times. When we landed the airport in Cancun and headed to the hotel, I timed how long it took from the time we left the plane, got through customs, got our bags, got our ride and arrived at the hotel and met everyone in the lobby as they arrived to check in and gave them their OOT bag. I missed a few that arrived early but I just called the front desk, found their room and walked it over to them.

This means that you have to (as your guests) 15 additional nights booked in any category of room...

For example...if I have my mom and stepdad in one room, my sister and BIL in one room, and my 2 friends in 1 room and they each stay 5 nights...I qualify (as long as you have the premium suite for 7 days or get permission for more days in a less than premium suite).

Each room is booked 5 nights...so..3 rooms...booked 5 nights each = 15 guest room nights :)

Hope that helps

I'm hoping to do something like this.  However, I think almost everyone is arriving on the same day (as us) ... so I'll probably just hang out in the lobby for a good chunk of time and give them out.  Glad to hear it's easy enough to get the room numbers for those that I miss.

Ok looking for opinions here.  Originally I wasn't really into having a "color scheme".  I figured my wedding color was "white" and my theme was "beach".  rolleyes.gif  I knew there would be color involved through the BM dresses and figured that would influence. So, I found BM dresses that I really like and there are 2 colors that I like - turquoise and purple.  I thought that it might be cool to have 1/2 and 1/2 (I have 6 in my bridal party... huge, I know)...  Then I was worried that 2 colors would be too busy (although I like the look of them together) and that I'd go with purple and then use turquoise as an accent color.

Since then 2 of the BMs have voted turquoise (I was surprised), 2 don't care and 2 haven't been canvassed.  Long story long - do you think having both purple AND turquoise BM dresses is too much?!  If so.... would you vote all purple or turquoise?  (the purple is called "plum" - but it's not nearly that dark).

Here's a link to the dresses if you're interested.  The style is BM1277 but the colors I'm looking at are the "plum" and "turquoise".

Thanks for your opinions.  Sorry so long!

Ha..Color white...theme beach smile120.gif
I love those 2 together...and I love the idea of bridesmaids in different colors...originally I wanted my 3 bridesmaids all in different colors (turquoise/aqua...purple...and bright pink)  FI didn't love that idea but I think I have him on board for navy and hot pink .

Ladies who have had or are having hair and make-up done in the spa. What were you quoted/charged?

My make-up is covered but might need my hair done. Also, some of BM's and MOB will want thier hair done too. I would love to pay for this but have no idea what to expect.

My WC sent me over the PDF's but the proces are really steep for the bridal packages and I don't need all of that anyway. Is there a place I can find the a la carte prices?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
