Murmel, what specifically did you want to see for the beach bbq area?

The seating area. I know it's got a shelter of sorts and then bench seating? Would love to have a photo to update my memory. I took all sorts of photos of wedding locations, but not so much for the reception areas. FI and I are possibly thinking of doing a beach BBQ for our reception, but I would love to see the spot again before we decide!
Thanks Miriam

Murmel, I don't know if this helps you but here are some pics of the BBQ beach area from when I was there.

This pic is taken from the beach area towards the resort. You can see the buffet in the background.

Here's a pic taken from the seating area out to the ocean:

I followed up with 2 more emails and then also made my TA tell me 50 days out who had not paid yet and I followed up. Yes, it was a lot of work, but my TA was extremely disorganized and she said she did not have the systems set up to remind guests when to pay. Seems like a simple service every TA has, right?!

That's awesome you have saved that much money by using other brides stories and suggestions!!! That is such a testament to everyone helping each other and sharing stories! woo hoo ladies

YES - 2 1/2 months very stressed = totally normal! This is when list making is your friend :) Jeep it by your bed so when you wake up panicking, you'll write down whatever you just remembered and get back to sleep
Thanks! Good to know I am not alone but sorry you've had the same experience. Actaully this morning my FI got a call from his groomsmen who has not be charged yet and I lost it. I tried calling my TA and she wasnt in yet. Lucky for her. My mom is going to call and handle it and then I am calling my TA's supervisor. Honestly I have had it and I am far to busy to check up on her and make sure she is doing the work that she is supposed to be doing. Ahh.

The WC onsite give you the web address when you meet them onsite. Just know that the chances of it actually working is about 10%. My mom was the only one out of everyone I gave it to that actually got through to the webcam and you can't hear anything on it, it's not the greatest quality.

Just tell them you'd like the free package and to please update your spreadsheet and send it to you. I had Kiara email me my updated spreadsheet so I could check it over, a few times a week.

If it makes you feel any better, Tiffany got a lot of complaints from the girls that had her for being out of communication and unwilling to work with people like help them out. You're new coordinator is a fresh start and hopefully will work more with you.

If it makes you feel any better, Kiara told me the same thing, she told me the chair pricing is pretty ridiculous and they never bend on it. I asked her if she'd try for me and she said she would. Once again like Meredith mentioned, kill 'em with kindness and know that the WC's are not the ones who make decisions, they don't price us, they are just our via to Lomas (the real enemy) LOL!

As for the TA, that's about the point I requested a new TA. Had I not done that, I think I would have actually melted down completely!

Thanks for the advice. I am going to email her now and let her know the changes I want. No more asking. I have got things to cross of my list damn it and this asking and waiting a week or two for an answer is for the birds.

can you ladies tell that I have had it today?

Forgot to mention that I called my FI on my way to work this am to make sure that he had gotten ahold of the last groomsmen yet to buy his suit. And then he alerted me to the problem that two of these aholes, I mean groomsmen (joking, I do love them all) have been slacking and now the suit is not avialble in their sizes. Honestly, melt down does not describe the way I feel right now. I am more like a valcano ready to erupt.

And today's my son's 1st birthday. This morning was just perfect, we played and open presents, went out to breakfast and now all of this.

I swear, I am not going to let a moronic TA and slacking groomsmen ruin this day for me. Chin up.

Yes, food is a thing for me as well. I've already asked her for the lowdown on the food. I'll let you know her opinions when I hear 'em

Amy is willing to work more for people who are nice. That makes so much sense. But also being in the service industry, I know that I wouldnt be were I am or have the clients I have if I didn't respond in a timely manner and answer the questions asked. I've told my TA that. She doesn't seem to care. Ahhh...can you sense my frustration?

......
Oh there must be so much more but time to hit the hay. My weekend of flights to and from the east coast in addition to 3 parties in 3 days has got me beat. I need to wake up soon to decorate cupcakes and hopefully work out. Ah, why am I so overwhelmed all the sudden? Is this normal for brides 2 1/2 months out. AHHH! I can't believe it's that close.

Deep breath.

Ok ladies....good night!:)
Wow! Sounds like we have the same TA hahahaa. I just get tired of excuses. Working for some very demanding people I try and be as nice as I can to people who work in sales and service industries - but sometimes I just want to scream at people to do their jobs. That's why I hired them, so I don't have to follow up every detail myself. hahaha... sigh

I think feeling overwhelmed at 2 1/2 months would be TOTALLY reasonable and normal. You're almost there tho' and I'm sure it will all work out just PERFECTLY! From what you've shared with us on here it sounds like your wedding will be amazing hun.

Just try and remember to get some rest and find some down time for yourself that's not wedding related now and again.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
