Not strange at all! I love getting the banners. Now, I think it's time you stopped referring to yourself as a newbie around here :)

My friend who moonlights as a photog and is trying to break into the industry shot them. I want to share them with you, but I don't know where the best place is to upload them for you to see. I cannot post them here because of my profession.....but let me know where to upload them and I will share!

Meeeeee! Please PM me the link!

We didn't have any trouble with being able to see our meal, etc. I thought it was perfect. Here is a pic for you to see, it's not totally dark yet, but you can still get an idea of the set up:

Katken,

Thanks for posting this picture. It looks exactly like what I am interested in doing. Do you have more pics you could share? Also, how did the private reception work? Did you pick a menu and pay the per person, and then pay for lighting, dj, etc. What extra fees were there? Was it pricey?

I am trying to determine overall pricing (at least a guestimate) before I book, but I'm getting worried if I don't hurry, my date will be gone. Guess I better make some decisions! :o)

Hi ladies,

For those of you who did the included dinner, did you get to do any dancing? Having the mother/son and father/daughter dance are important to me, and that's about it as far as the typical reception goes. I do want to wear my dress as long as possible though.

What did everyone do after their dinner? Is there a club to go to? I guess you would change?

Thanks girls! Looking forward to becoming an official AS bride!

Tisha :o)

Oh, a few more questions! I'm full of 'em. :o)

The banquet kit listing I have doesn't say the cost for additional chairs for the ceremony. Does anyone know the cost?

Also, does anyone know the cost for the sound system alone? Lighting costs?

Thanks ladies!

Oh, and my name is Tisha ~ Looking into AS for a late April/early May '11 wedding!!

looking forward to getting to know all of you!

It was exciting but I was sooooooo nervous!!! I had a shot of Patron and two glasses of red wine to get me amp'ed up to do it! And even then you will see this nervous tense look on my face at times. I just kept thinking how excited FI would be to know I thought enough of him to do something special that took me out my normal box. :-) It was so hard to just let myself go and while my friend was really comfy and funny during the shoot, I kept finding myself trying to stay covered up! It was weird, almost like I didn't want to offend him by flashing him! LOL I went to HS with his wife and I kept trying to be "respectful" of her. LOL They are by no means the best of work and he's just starting out and I think it shows in some of the photos (or maybe it was just me). :-) Check 'em out!
Congratulations! I am sure the photos are beautiful! And you should be very proud of yourself that you did it. I am sure your FI was both surprised and thrilled :)

I did a Bedroom photo shoot for FI for Christmas a few years back. It is nerve wreaking...but now I look back at those photos with pride. And my FI loved the photobook! Love the idea of maybe doing some new ones to give him just before the wedding....hmmm.... wink.gif

I'm just wondering who's getting the silver package and who's getting gold - and what you might be adding to your costs or upgrading?

Do these packages include dj? I see a lot of people saying they will be renting equipment? Is the reception included in your package?

Thanks in advance, i'm looking forward to hearing what everyone is planning!
welcome1.gif Nice to meet you. I'm doing the pearl package (not sure if it's offered anymore) and adding on to it. There were a lot of things in the more expensive pacKages that I knew I wouldn't use.

First they told us that construction would begin in August and go through Feb/March 2011. Then they said nope...we're going to try to get done in time for Christmas....we'll have the final construction plans done on Wednesday (two days ago). Wednesday rolled around, and they said they needed more time to finalize plans. I'm just over it all. My biggest fear is that even if they say they'll be done by Christmas, they'll go over and my wedding would be smack dab in the middle of construction.

My TA asked for a quote for Sensatori, and they were "kind" enough to give us a "great" deal...$7 cheaper per person than our quote at Azul Beach. That's right, $7. There's no zero missing :) AS looks like a stunning resort, but honestly I'm just so mad at Karisma right now for this run-around I want to wash my hands of them.

So...not sure where I'll be getting married, but it will be somewhere in the Riviera Maya (since we've already booked our flights). You ladies have been the BEST support system, and I will definitely keep reading this thread to see all of the upcoming brides' weddings. Good luck to everyone!!!
That's ridiculous! They could've done better than that! I hate that you may have to move, but the peace of mind you may gain will be totally worth it. Follow your heart and don't forget about us if you move!

smile29.gif I'm excited for you! Especially since you joined like 3 months after me and have beaten me to it....guess I need to start posting more! I flipped when I got rid of noob status. Also, happy that your 1st guests booked. I felt the same way. It was kind of a relief that it was confirmed that FI and I were not gonna be the only ones there. Lol. Have a great weekend!!

OMG! I think I'm officially the only one that hasn't done this. I won't even wear a bathing suit without a cover-up! Guess that solidifies the fact that I need to be in the gym this weekend. I envy you ladies that have the balls to do this. Maybe one day?

Awww Celina. I am so sorry to hear this. I think you made the right decision though. You will find your perfect resort, I know it! Its not cool that AB is acting like that. Even when I was there they were working on this mansion next door (I know its owned by the same guy who owns AB, but not sure if they were expanding AB or whatever) - but anyways, ppl who got massages in the palapas could hear the hammering the entire massage. lame!

I hope you have a good TA working with you. Good luck & keep us posted!

I forget Gingerlovers name.... but you guys I am gutted for you!!!doh.gif

Just saw them and wrote you back with my favorites! I love them, I don't think you look nervous at all, I think you're a very pretty girl and your FI is going to adore them!

How funny, I had a patron shot and I think 2-3 glasses of wine... my shoot was over 4 hours long! I brought my BF with me who convinced me to go topless and eventually naked... don't know how she managed that one but I'm happy I did it. That photo ended up going on my photographers blog smile41.gif you can't see my face or any parts but I think I fell out of my chairs when someone pointed that out. :)
Ok Ladies I think you have sold me on this idea! Going to research in Houston:)

At first when I couldn't find anyone in Austin I checked out Houston. There are a TON there! All with different styles. I really liked Studio 563. They have an Austin office but only the Houston one does BD. Also, lots of ladies on BDW go with Houston Boudoir--they do a very air brushed look if that interests you.

If you don't find someone you like in Houston and want to consider Austin, holy cow my BD photog is ridiculously good. She's constantly featured here for her wedding photography and was just featured in the newest edition of The Knot Texas.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
