Thing is, I am cannot find a "clean" picture of the sky deck...that is one without a ton of people or one with just simple chivalri chairs. I would use photo shop to take things off the pics but I am so not a tech person. And that's where you all come in. Does nayone of a picture of the sky deck sans people, preferrably without a ton of decoration or one that has chivalri chairs as opposed to covered chairs? Here's to hoping. Thanks so much!!!!
Lemme look and see...I think I may!

Has anyone used the photographers the resort suggests? I hate to pay the 500 extra just to use one from outside. Also, my girls are wearing blue sapphire short dresses and I'm having a hard time deciding on the guys. My DH wants them to wear linen pants. Any thoughts?
I am not sure about AS, but at my resort, I chose to do the "free package" and just order everything a la carte. There wasn't a package where I LOVED every part of it. And since I am flying in my photographer, it seemed like a waste of money to pay for that in a package.

What is the style of your wedding? I wanted mine to NOT be "beachy." I know that's weird to say, but I wanted it to be a little more formal. I LOVE linen pants, but it did not fit the style of my wedding. So FI's GM are wearing gray suits (yes, they will hate me after they sweat their butts off). What about white linen pants??

I hope these 3 pictures are not "too blank" for you. There are no chairs, but I think you could plug in the chairs maybe. Hope this helps! Just right-click on each picture and you can save them to your computer and make adjustments.

The moment of laughter and ring confusion in the middle is this... BM had both rings, MOH was freaking out because she didn't have ring so when I turned to hand over my flowers, she is laughing and red and pulls off her engagement/wedding band and hands it to me and I'm like what are you doing? She goes "I don't have his ring!!!" Good times :)

I was 100% the same way about my wedding. I didn't want a beachy/island theme at ALL. I didn't even have it on the sand, had it on the Sky Deck. I wanted mine to be classic, simple and fun. My boys wore black pants, white button down shirt, sleeves rolled up to their elbows, black vest and a black tie. So I made them sweat to death in black wink.gif They were ok actually and all jumped in the pool after. No a single one complained :)

I'm bringing a photographer from home. I had to pay for his trip and give him $1000 so all together we're paying like $2,200 for him to shoot for the whole weekend. We were going with one of the hotel photographers at first but it was going to cost $1,300 for 5 hours of coverage. If your photographer stays at the resort for 3 or more nights you don't have to pay teh $500 fee.

Maybe your GMs can wear Sapphire colored shirts and linen pants.

Thanks

for the tips. My mom is a florist and I was telling her about the real touch flowers. I will have to check into that company. Where is your reception going to be at the resort?

Amy - congrats on your legal day! You look adorable in the road sign picture! Hope Vegas was a blast :)

KWIM... where have you seen that?! haha I have no clue what that would mean either!

My guys wore white linen pants and they looked HOT. My new sister in law loved her husband (the best man) in them - she thanked me for choosing them so she could have him wear them all summer wink.gif I think it matters more what your FI is wearing. Is he wearing linen pants or a suit?

I love the white on the gazebo. I like it that your husband wore something different than the groomsmen. I was thinking linen pants for all except my DH wearing a jacket or tie so he stands out.

Thanks Maggie! My actually wedding ceremony I cried the entire time as you can see from the photos so it was nice to actually be able to relax and laugh and enjoy the mistakes and cheers this time, felt amazing!

Yeah no one was offended that we did this... we also had hardly any family, 95% friends!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
