Our travel agent, The Wedding holiday, was super nice and got us a private cocktail reception (not at our expense) so that was a lovely surprise when we met with the wedding coordinators today.
I will keep you updated as to how everything goes...I am in my room as I have had a little too much to drin'k!! lol it is my bedtime.
I'm thinking of you Meghan and hoping and praying that the weather clears up in time for your wedding to be all that you dreamed of. I've read several similar stories from brides who said for some odd reason the weather magically cleared up just in time for their ceremony! I'm hoping that good mojo comes your way!!!!

Hey Ms. Mar, I'm not sure if you have had a chance to go back and read this thread or not.....but I did and it was VERY helpful. I know it can be time consuming, but if you go back to around page 400 or so and read forward, alot of your questions and curiosity will be cured. :-) The ladies on here have been very helpful in throwing on here all that was in their heads, notes, and research regarding AS. It is a resource beyond explanation......

Bull! LOL You are the type that we NEED around! One who has been there, done that and can shed some light and wisdom on the reality of an AS experience. You are of more help than you think and that "oldie" term is killing me! lol Anything but! ;-)

I think that the packages with the resort photographers aren't too great for the price, at least that was my experience last year when I was looking into photography options. I have seen pictures of Caribe that are good, although I don't even know if they are still offered as an option for the resort.

(I am so not smart enough to quote other messages...but hopefully I figure that out soon...when I try it does the whole message...not just the part I want....)

Caribe is still offered...I looked at some of their stuff...the packages are kind of expensive...but I don't think any more expensive than flying someone in and paying for additional airfare...hotel room...etc.... That just seems insane!

So...if there are any February 2012 brides that might possibly want to to share a photographer...please let me know :)

Marla, when you quote, you can delete the parts of the message that you don't want to include. Just make sure that you leave the *

[*/quote]* boxes in there or else it will look like you posted it.

Re the photog situation. I think it depends on how important it is to you. I was one of those brides that honestly didn't care about anything but the photography, but that was me. I think you get less for your buck through the resort photogs, but if you don't want to spend too much then that may be the route to go!

Oh and if you want to share a photog, post it in your siggy!!

Hi ladies! Alright, I successfully got my Vegas Ceremony video onto YouTube!

Please let me know if you'd like to see it and don't share it, I put up there for you girls and some friends and family to see, hope you like it!

The moment of laughter and ring confusion in the middle is this... BM had both rings, MOH was freaking out because she didn't have ring so when I turned to hand over my flowers, she is laughing and red and pulls off her engagement/wedding band and hands it to me and I'm like what are you doing? She goes "I don't have his ring!!!" Good times :)

We had our welcome dinner yesterday. It was a set menu, which we could not change, but it was delicious and everyone loved it! THey spelle dmy last name wrong on the menu cards that were set out at each place setting, so they brought in a harpest to make up for it. They are wonderufl and fixing mistakes and compensating you. We had a cesear salad, potato soup, and choice between chicken or beef, and cheese cake for dessert. Everything was soooo good, except for the cheese cake, but we just went and got different desserts from the buffet.

That is where we are having our reception if the rain stays away. They don't provide additional lighting unless you pay for it. I have heard they put tea lights out as well, but my online wedding coordinator told me they cost money, so we brought our own anyway. We are paying for tiki torches to provide additional lighting.
I think the storm is supposed to be in the states by Thursday! You should be fine! Good thoughts coming your way girl!!!!

It may not happen but made me feel a little better about paying $380 per ticket. Hope that helps
Good idea!!! Thanks so much!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
