Zip lining was awesome but they only do it in groups of 12 so we had to split into 2 groups. It also ran waaaaaayyy over and we were gone from 9am-6pm. Which would be fine if you weren't staying at an all inclusive resort!...

I think the catamaran was better b/c everyone could go - all young & old - so the group was more cohesive.

Buuuuutttt if I was watching my $$ spent but also wanted to do something for my guests I would totally recommend the vans into Cancun or Playa del Carmen. If you need 2 vans - so 24 people or less - it is like $220 for both round trip. I used 3 vans into Cancun and it was $336. I tipped the drivers $20 each too. But those group outings are so easy - you can do the nighttime clubbing or a daytime trip. Maybe find a place to all have lunch - do some shopping - maybe even a free museum or art gallery - then back to the hotel. Its very affordable and being driven in an air conditioned van with nice drivers made my guests feel very special!!!
Okay, thank you for the advice Amy! As we get a better idea of how many guests we are looking at, I start looking into these activities. It sounds like you guys had the time of your lives!!! cheer2.gif

LOL, hell no! We don't have a lopsided relationship! I consider my duty as an AS bride and a bride in general to help B2B's. I received so much help and asked so many questions for over a year so now I get to pay it back, or forward, depending on how you look at it.

CONGRATS!! cheer2.gif I'm so jealous! I've never been to NOLA, I just put in some "travel requests" with my travel buddy to go to this year NY (we go every year), GA, & LA. Never been to Georgia & Louisiana!
Thanks! I can't take ALL of the credit for the idea. FI came up with the Greek letters and I thought the idea was amazing. I didn't even think we would find someone to do them. Did you see them on my facebook?

You are definitely paying it forward girl!!!

You are definitely welcome to come, just let me know. I don't want to give off the idea that this AHR will be ultra fab tho. Depends on the finances after November! I do think the weekend will be very fun tho. We'll probably be typsy from Fri thru Tues!!! It's the 1st Mardi Gras I've had off in awhile so I'm really excited.

I had a private dinner, Surf & Turf, tables chairs, white linens and napkins came with it, I rented the Chivali chairs instead. Everyone loved the Surf and Turf, it was delish!

So Ladies, I just found out this week that I may be able to do a site visit!! I'm so anxious about it it's crazy. My mom is turning 60 this year and wanted to go to Paris but due to my wedding and my sister's divorce we had to downgrade that unfortunately. I suggested a cruise which is her fav vacay and it stops in Cozumel! The cruise is 2 weeks from now. Does anyone know the best way for me to get to AS from Cozumel? The 20 min flight from Cozumel to Cancun was suspended and I hear the bus from PM to Cozumel is very sporadic and I can't miss the boat smile41.gif

Also, I know a lot of you are anxious about certain things so IF I can find a safe way to get back and forth AND get back to the boat in time, I'll be willing to scope out things that you guys need. My WC Cecile made it seem like its no big deal to get the site visit scheduled and she offered me a food tasting. I'm just waiting for her to get back to me about the cake tasting. I feel like I've gotten so much info from the ladies on here so the only thing I'm still nervous about is the food. So, I'll keep you posted on all of this. The dat for the site visit would be Tuesday, July 13th.

You shouldn't have any problem doing that, depending on how long you are in port. There are two ferries that go to Playa, here are the schedules:

http://www.mexicowaterjets.com/eng/

http://www.granpuerto.com.mx/

They run every hour or two and the trip takes about 45 minutes. From there, you will want to take a taxi to the hotel. There are always tons at the corner of 5th Avenue and Juarez by the bus station. You can purchase your return ticket ahead of time too so you will be ready to hop on on the way back. Azul Sensatori is about 22 miles or so north of Playa, so definitely plan in your travel time back and forth. It is probably a 10 minute or so walk from the taxi area to the pier. You might find one closer of course but I would plan on going as far as the bus station where you will find one for sure.

Hope that helps!

:) Michelle

Yay. That's great. (Not about the downgrade and divorce but you guys celebrating together and the possible site visit.) I know that will help put you to ease and can't wait to hear all about it. Please keep us upcoming brides posted!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
