The set up fee must be paid in cash. The rest of the balance I paid using a credit card (only Visa & MasterCard). The WCs probably pocket the cash - so maybe you can sweeten the pot for your coordinator who might be willing to bend the chair rules for a hundred bucks or so? Maybe worth the try??
It was my initial idea to just wait until I get the the resort and see what happens. Like I said, I don't HAVE to have them, just figured it would be a nice addition. Problem is, I was gonna pull the "you didn't tell me that card" because I have an email where I blatantly asked if I'd have to pay twice and she never answered me. She just re-quoted the price. I know it would be a long shot buy gotta try.

I know, I feel the same way. But then again. AS is so not willing to budge when it comes to money, I'm not really all that surprised. Please keep me posted on your head way them and I'll do the same!

My thought exactly. I'm booking them for the ceremony and will totally bribe to have them moved. Thanks for the advice!
I would definitely say that if you go them for $5 that a GREAT deal. Mine were still $12 and she wouldn't budge on that. I hadn't gotten my TA involved because it wasn't that big of a deal for me. Figured I'd use negotiating power for stuff I can't live without.

We planned on having 2 couples go with us, then my mom and brother wanted to come so DH invited his parents and sister and brother-in-law and then it expanded and I have 30+ people coming now... how crazy is that?
I have her email address if you need it Amanda.

Amy, you guys really are having 3 weddings!! Jealous!!!

Has anyone been to both resorts and have any commentshuh.gif
I've never been to either one, but my TA raved about AS and just didn't really have anything bad to say about DRC. Her enthusiasm sealed the deal for me.

The only reason we kept them is because they already had our money. We're super stoked to be getting our money back and not have to deal with them anymore, but I'm really, really, really pissed at the reason she gave for doing it. She is WRONG and a LIAR and needs to read her own contract. I was so mad it kept me awake most of the night last night, and I'm thinking to myself, "This crazy ***** is not worth losing sleep over so let it go!" Grrrr. voodoo.gif
Isn't there a cake place in Austin that's on Amazing Wedding Cakes? Not sure if they're wayyy overpriced, but I want to help and that's all I got. hug2.gif

I bought their shoes, flip flops for after the ceremony, jewelry for the ceremony, going to pay to get their makeup done and going to make them shirts when I come up with a good idea for them. I feel like I should do more, but don't have any really good ideas yet. Check out The Knot Shop. They usually have good sales. Tiffany jewelry sounds great but expensive. Maybe you can check out the clearance section at a really nice jewelry store in your area. Sometimes they have really nice options.

I went to a Brides Against Breast Cancer event on Friday and ended up buying a dress! It was the first on I tried on, and my wedding is a year away. I loved the way the dress fit, but wasn't crazy about the neckline. The ladies told me that the top could be altered, but now I am having second thoughts!!!smile35.gif
You can always re-sell the dress if you don't want to use it as a TTD, but just like AmyB said....don't settle.

No clue at all. But figure I still have a long time to decide on this one. Don't even have all the BMs confirmed yet.

YAY! Congrats!! cheer2.gif I personally did ecard save the dates. But that was mainly b/c of the time limit for people to take advantage of our group rate. Will still be sending out formal invitations soon.

This makes me feel like our quote is kind of pricey. But it is coming from Canada (which always seems to be more $ and includes waay too much in tax from the airlines - - like $290pp in tax alone!) and is for a full week.

I can only hope that I am nearly this organized when I reach the same point in planning that you're at! Good work! cheer2.gif Can't wait to see the centerpieces. I'm trying to decide if I'll end up bringing mine with etc. The ones from Lomas seem so pricey. Are you packing all the stuff with you??

Very true, it is a Maggie Sottero and I got it 50% off the listed price so I can probably sell it...

About the banner, the website really does not do it justice. We were surprised at how great it looks in person. High quality, good graphics and huge. Not cheesy in any way. It's a steal too! I would send you a picture of ours but the one we currently have got crushed during the shipping so it's all crinkly. The company is sending us another one set to ship tomorrow. Really great customer service, btw.
LOVE the banner! Great idea wink.gif

I'm still waiting for my May 6 2011 confirmation, and trying to figure out what to do for the STDs. I'm thinking I might just design a postcard and order from Vistaprint since they have a special right now, you get 100 for free! These girls are incredibly helpful, you will tons of info on here

We aren't quite there yet but my FMIL and her TA are bulldogs. (My FMIL was a TA for 25 years so she is helping us out) but with that said we haven't signed on the bottom line yet. I will let you know what they say and if they end up locking in 2010 rates for me so maybe you can get the same thing.

Organized?! It's all an illusion. The main reason I was hoping someone would take over the to-do list was to make me more organized. I kinda feel an obligation to get stuff done once I post it on here. It's definitely motivation.

I'm sure you shouldn't have a problem selling a Maggie. I would just hate for you to keep 2nd guessing and on your wedding day be mad at yourself for not doing what you REALLY want. As far as STDs, my TA did the ones on Vista Print for me. We were able to put a pic on it and everything. It wasn't what I wanted but it did help with the budget. I spent the $ on personalized stamps for our invites instead.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
