I'm the same way as you ladies about being hesitant to share. We made it so personal to us, our relationship, and how we view marriage. It was a compilation of things we found online, in books, and just plain wrote ourselves.

It's not a big area so just make sure it can fit everyone.
We have about 50 people coming, well there will probably only be about 35 at the bar because everyone else is in the wedding party. If that lounge is too small do you have any other suggestions of where I can tell people to go mingle?

If you are doing the legal ceremony, you can change some of the set ceremony, however since the judges do not speak perfect English, you might want to have your guests do readings - such as the sand ceremony, hand ceremony, or poems.

Good luck!
I love your ceremony! It's beautiful.

They cleared out of the building and disappeared. Shady, shady, shady! I'm sure everything will work out tho. According to everyone else's experience with the matter looks like you'll be fine.
Well there goes my wishful thinking. I just got an email from WC saying remember we must receive your final payment by June 16th and she attached a credit card authorization form! evil.gif

Well if you want to keep them close they can go to the Zocollo patio bar, not too big though. Getting further away you could have them go to the Wave Swim up bar which has seating and lounging areas with cool lanterns at night, I suggest that probably, it's by the adult swim up bar so you'll have to send someone to round everyone up when the reception area is ready.

You could always have them hang out at the Mojito Lounge as well which is large, air conditioned and pretty lively. That's very far away though, across the resort.

You know, I ordered our kids nuggets and fries, but I think they might have given her the surf & turf. I remember her eating it but maybe it was her mom's plate! Haha, anyways, yes kids menu is free like Wendy said!

Good luck in your beginnings phase :-)
Good to know about kids meals...I was never told about these!

My dilemma is even though i may only pay 25 buxs for silk flowers and a vase, I may still end up spending almost 50 to 60 buxs in checking luggage. I'm just not sure if its worth the hassle
I am bringing centerpieces. I got lanterns for 15 dollars each. I am putting sand shells and a floating candle in each. I need 7 centerpieces, so I will divide them up amongst friends.

I think they were on sale before and probably are not anymore....I was told they were on sale when I was quoted $75 each. And yes, white is cheaper

I will post a picture of my flowers. I ordered real touch stems and rented vases from Lomas. Kiara negotiated my vase price down for my by 50%! So I had the submerged orchid stems in 3 different colors, 3 different size vases with a floating candle on top, I thought it looked gorgeous.

I did something so similar! I had vintage lovebird playing cards I found, all different and put them in holders on the seating cards table and had my MOH's mom artistically write the instructions on the chalkboard. It worked out, everyone figured out how to match their bird card to their table, I loved it :)

You're right, you're bouquet is GORGEOUS!!
Can I ask who your original TA at DW.com was. I am worried that I have the same one. sad.gif

I can't wait to see a photo of your centerpieces. They sound lovely. Everytime I hear what you girls have done, I change my mind.

Love the love-bird playing card ideas. I am also doing placards in small photo frames. We using antiquey ooking photo frames that will also hold the polaroids from our photo booth. So they double as favors. I haven't decided how we are doing the table numbers yet. I was thinking of doing vintage images of the cities we have lived in (Baltimore, Austin, New York, Boston, Los Angeles and Amsterdam) but I think I might have 10 tables so that won't be enough. Hmm..what to do?

Google images, look on flickr, and check out other brides on this site!

They look lovely. I agree your look better than the photo you sent. I know I asked this before, but if you don't mind telling me again, how much did they charge you for those arrangements?

Megs, I would definitely ask to see the kids menu and also have the payment form. I requested both off a whim. Just want to be safe - considering your date change - that everything is finalized. Before you pay they send it through to the resort for the GM's approval and sign off. Seems like "duh they should already have approved" but this is Karisma/Lomas, so I really want your stuff to be set ASAP!!!

Thanks Amanda. Love that idea! You could do cities you lived in plus ones you have visited or where your parents and grandparents grew up. I think you are on the right track though - sounds amazing!!!

Sure, the vases w/ gladiolas were $43 each - STEAL!!! They put them by the DJ table after the wedding and looked great. The sheets were double the usual price b/c they have to use 2 on the sides and 2 front to back so it was $300 (instead of $150). Chairs were free - uncovered & no bows. (i did pay more for extra chairs though b/c of the size of my wedding)

I am back and a Mrs!!! I had the most AMAZING time ever! Our wedding was absolutely perfect. The ceremony site on the beach was gorgeous, the weather was wonderful, the reception site (Zavaz Plaza) was awesome, and all of our guests had a great time!!!!

We did the wedding on the beach, and splurged and got the Premium Deluxe Package, because I love flowers :) Here is an image of the gazebo:

Here is a picture of me and the hubby (that's so weird to say!!) during the ceremony:

Here we are during the sand ceremony:

And here is the set-up for the reception. Since we had the premium deluxe, it was supposed to come with four large baskets of flowers. Our on-site wedding coordinator (who was fabulous!) switched those out for the tall glass vases and then we were able to use the flowers on top as the centerpieces for the reception site, which was great because we were originally just going to use the bouquets.

Ladies, do not stress! The wedding coordinators on-site are AMAZING, and do everything to make your day absolutely perfect. smile159.gif

Amy, I am so glad you had an awesome wedding also! I was thinking about you on Saturday, and was really happy the weather was great for you also! Can't wait to see more pics!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
