Maggie.....We are assigned to Cecile. We have only been booked for about 2 weeks and have had minimal contact with her. The few emails I have sent to her have been responded to in 24 hrs or less. She has been very prompt! I had some questions about the photographer issue and she wasn't 100% accurate with her response and our TA had to push the question up to Fabio for a solid answer.

Hope this helps!

Onto the photog issue: Really, what's up with blocking you on fbhuh.gifhuh.gif Who does that to a client? I agree with all the advice you've already gotten. You need to be very firm, possibly threatening, and get something back out of her. The only possible reason I could think of for her behavior is that May is probably one of the busiest, if not the busiest, wedding month where you are. At least it is here in Texas. I've been having a similar, though not nearly as difficult, situation with the photog who did my boudoir, and it's because she's overwhelmed and overbooked herself.

Do you live near her? Does she have a studio where you can pay her a visit?
Thank you SOOOOO much!!! We really did have a blast taking the pictures!!!

Isn't that shady?!?!?!?!? And yes, I understand being busy, but being in sales, I ALWAYS respond to my clients...You can't me you don't have 5 minutes to respond to emails?!?!?

No, unfortunately she does not live near me.

UPDATE! However, I sent her a stern, but nice email...come to find out she has been going through a divorce. I am glad she got back to me and is supposedly shipping my Garmin today and getting her passport on Wednesday...YIKES!!!! 8 weeks out! But thanks sooo much for all your advice...I will keep you posted. I just hope she keeps her word, because I really do love her work!! And she seemed so professional in NOLA for my e pics....

And about your photog... I hope everything works out. Maybe she is truly busy. Though that does not give her excuse not returning your call/email and not returning your GPS. She is super shady. At the end I do hope it's worth all this :)

Chong
Thank you Chong! I hope it is worth it too...oh the joys of a destination wedding! I think you summed it up perfectly...I hope it is all worth this! haha But I def think it will be!!!

Uhhh, jealous of us?! I'm jealous of your 3 weddings! Especially, the Vegas wedding and the Hangover Suite...I'm definitely envious. I love Vegas as wish I could do something there too. Maybe for our anniversary since everyone is crying broke already. If you don't mind me asking, how much is the suite costing you?

Does anyone know if you can make reservations at Le Chique before you check in? I know it's a long shot but I really want the experience.

Lindz, that sucks. I don't care how busy you are, if you are a business person that can't get to emails, you shouldn't give your email address out or hire a temp to answer them for you. Better yet, if she is just busy there are those automated messages that can go out saying such (I get them from my WC all the time, lol). I don't feel that's an excuse. And blocking you on fb....just shady. Let us know how that email goes (if she responds), but I would definitely have to come to some type of agreement with her before booking her plane ticket, etc to Mexico. There is still time to find someone else if she doesn't get her act together and I would stress that to her. She should definitely take into consideration the fact that brides are overly emotional and get back to you for that reason alone. Also, I would deduct the price of the Garmin from her final payment if you haven't already paid in full. My conscience wouldn't allow me to keep my mom's Garmin nevertheless a client's!!
EXACTLY!! Like, "hi I am traveling for business and will respond on June 1st." or whatever! I totally agree...and yes, def will deduct the Garmin from final payment!!

Let me know what you find out about this...I am getting nervous about hurricanes

Thanks dear!!! Our 2 best friends got married at the columns...we were both in the wedding. So, it is kind of precious to us!

I actually did a little research and the Hangover Suite doesn't look anything like it did in the movie... it's kinda meh looking in real like and so for $5,000 I decided that wasn't worth it... (I'm thinking the price went up since it was in the movie) I am now in a MGM Skyloft, 3,000 square feet, pool table, flat screens, butler, all that stuff. Also you have to have a private guest list for anyone coming to your suite because it's escort only to those suites which is pretty cool. I paid $2,000 for the suite and I'm having everyone bring a bottle of alcohol and a mixer, get some hor'derves and done!

You cannot make pre-reservations for Le Chique, I tried and they told me that your personal concierge is the only person who can make them and that depends on your building number.

I didn't... I thought it may jinx it... haha not totally seriously but I just didn't want even have a thought of needing it. Not the most foolproof plan but you know what, it all worked out. :)
We are looking at the Sky Lofts too!! Either those or the Aria!!!

Question for you ladies; I have had 2 WC's contact me from AS
Tiffany Borowsky and Cécile Alix. Did anyone have good experiences with one or both?
Thanks ladies! I would be Lost without you guys!
Yay! Congrats!!!! When I was first looking into AS, Fabio helped me a ton! I do not know what his position is, but he always answered my questions quickly. Hope this helps!

Just checking in with you to let you know that I am still here. :-) I'm just trying to catch up on my reading of the thread so that I don't ask any questions or obsess over things that have already been addressed. :-) Right now I am on page 221 but I feel like at this rate it will take me forever.

Right now I am starting to feel anxious about our decision. We have less than 12 months and I don't know if I made the right choice based upon my readings thus far. When we first started this search for our wedding location, a nice beach was a high priority. Right now, I am reading comments that the beach is not blue and is very rocky. Is this true? Also is there a time of year that the beach is really blue versus brown? I'm starting to feel really naive! :-/
Trust me, you will have 1 million more times where you question your location, resort, etc etc etc. It's natural! Just do your research and normally you figure out everything will be fine. I have heard the water is very blue...not brown at all!

Funny side-story, I was at my Doctor's this morning and the receptionist was talking about her son getting married in Mexico. I said "Oh, I'm getting married in Mexico in November!" Turns out, he's getting married at AS 1 week before me. Small world, eh?!
hahaha that's crazy!!!!

hahaha EVERYONE that I have heard on here has had a FABULOUS wedding at AS. I am getting married at a different resort and have had some of the same complaints. I think it's just destination weddings in general, the resorts being super busy, and many other reasons! That's why we have to stick together!

To the thefuturemrslutz:

You ladies on this forum RAWK!!! I was over here starting to go insane and obsess about the most minor details, which is normally not even in my character. :-/ Last night I almost had a minor meltdown because I was reading the earlier threads and just felt dumb for booking. I talked to my FH and he told me to chill out and focus on the reason for it all. While I know he was totally right, I just want it all to be perfect for us, just as I'm sure every other lady on her does. I just appreciate the support because no one in my "non-forum" life seems to get it. The option of picking a wedding site, sit-unseen can just be plain nerve racking. Grrr..... Thank you for your support!!!

We were planning to use the tax return to pay off the wedding. We can rob Peter to pay Paul to pay the wedding off but who wants to do thathuh.gif It'll be just my luck that the resort will be looking for my payment on June 16th exactly!
I wouldn't worry lol....I am 25 days out from leaving and have not been asked for a dime!

We purchased the insurance (including all my guests) through my TA. I thought it was more a travel insurance than wedding insurance. Like if your flight gets delayed and don't make it to the resort on the day you have already pay for it.. then you get money back for the night that you didn't stay, etc. It was only $39.99 per person. We thought it was well worth the purchase. My TA send me the insurance description. Since I am just at the end of hurricane season, I wanted to be safe.

I have Tiffany also. She's been very responsive to all my questions and been very helpful. I think it helps to call her and talk to her over the phone rather than exchanging emails all the time.

I started off with Tiffany and have been dealing with Cecile lately, I think she is great. She gets back to you quickly and addresses all my questions. I had talked with Tiffany once or twice and find Cecile to be much faster with her responses and much more thorough, she would email me in between just to see if she could help or if I had any. As of now, my TA seems to be handling all the communications with her, but as far as I'm concerned Cecile has been very helpful.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
