Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Lindz, LOVE those pictures!!!! My favorites are 5116, 5317 and 5339. You look hot in all your pictures (you're going to be a GORGEOUS bride!) but I especially love that pink outfit. Nice!!

Onto the photog issue: Really, what's up with blocking you on fbhuh.gifhuh.gif Who does that to a client? I agree with all the advice you've already gotten. You need to be very firm, possibly threatening, and get something back out of her. The only possible reason I could think of for her behavior is that May is probably one of the busiest, if not the busiest, wedding month where you are. At least it is here in Texas. I've been having a similar, though not nearly as difficult, situation with the photog who did my boudoir, and it's because she's overwhelmed and overbooked herself.

Do you live near her? Does she have a studio where you can pay her a visit?

Okay Lindz, I'm gonna temporarily jump back on the To Do bandwagon. See Amy, this is why you should be soooooo grateful your AHR is being planned for you! Do you have a lot of Vegas planning you need to do?

Taylorwd's To Do's

1. Finalize head count

2. Finalize with the baker

3. Order keg

4. Price a margarita machine

5. Order banner

6. Put together a wedding slideshow

7. Put together playlist

8. Decide on a guestbook

9. Brainstorm the menu

10. Finalize with the rental company

11. Make final decision on renting a van/driver

12. Find a cook

Wendy, haha! Yeah but now I'm truly missing planning, I feel bored and confused, LOL :) I can't believe my reception is tomorrow... I literally have NO idea what it will look like and who's coming, how crazy is that?

Vegas - I just applied for our marriage license online yesterday. I already booked the rooms, the Elvis chapel and package and our flights.

I will add this to the to do list:

Book party bus for transport to and from the hotel to the chapel

Get final list of who's coming to Vegas

Book hair and makeup appointment with MGM

Find shoes for dress

Make invites for Vegas wedding

Figure out if anything else should be done for this...

YAY!

If you throw in all the decoration flowers I could see it, but for just your stuff, no way!
I agree. I am not getting anything special. Maybe few of the orchids in the bouquet is making the price sky high. I need to look into this little bit more.

Another $50 bouquet. Did you pick on from the LOMAS website?

BEST decision ever! Everyone was so impressed with the flowers, the girls all have them in vases in their homes now.
wow... $5000. I would've had a heart attack if they showed me that price. $1000 is not in my budget for flowers. I have to check out the silk flowers...

I didn't know that your flowers were silk flowers. I am really impressed. Never known that they were silk flowers if you hadn't tell. I've been looking but I wasn't sure. My mom is big on real flowers but I am just too cheap to spend that much money on the real flowers.

They are charging me $60 for each bridesmaids bouquet and $30 for each of the guys. I am splurgin on my flowers and getting the ones I want. That will be about $300. So all in all around $600.

I thought about silk but I couldnt find anything other thanlily's and orchids. I want more traditional ivory roses and green hydranges so silk is out for me.
Haha... yeah, that sounds about right. My WC thinks the flower cost will be much higher than what I am expecting...

Thanks for the info!

Go to Lauren Harris Photography and click "enter site." Then click "client proofing." Then UNDER "enter password," type nola and click "submit." There a TON!!! Oh, and you can totally tell how nervous we were in the first few, but they get better as you go through them. Her blog website is Lauren Harris Photography, but she has not posted on her blog yet, so you will have to go through all 500 pics. wink.gif
Wow... I love your e-pictures. it's unique!!! You guys look so cute together :)

And about your photog... I hope everything works out. Maybe she is truly busy. Though that does not give her excuse not returning your call/email and not returning your GPS. She is super shady. At the end I do hope it's worth all this :)

We're getting married at Azul Beach!" I used to ask her all kinds of detailed questions about the resort which she was never able to answer. Turns out she'd been on a tour of AB a couple of times but had never spent any real time there and has never stayed there. No wonder she wasn't familiar with the layout!!

This is for sure one of the most frustrating things to deal with, but if you have the facts up front about who you can and cannot have (which so many of us didn't!), then you can get past it pretty quickly. Having a Karisma wedding is so wonderful! -- except for this one issue.

I know, Wendy, I think we should all move to Miami after our weddings and become WCs so the future brides have more knowledgeable people to work with. After all, once its all over you guys are pros!!

My AHR/Cocktail Reception party is this Friday... my friends are planning and throwing it and it's so strange to be in the dark and not have to organize everything, my Type A part of my personality is freaking out a bit. :)

I don't even know who's coming!

Luckily I have some things to do for my Vegas wedding which I'm stoked about. I have about 25 or so people coming to that.

Uhhh, jealous of us?! I'm jealous of your 3 weddings! Especially, the Vegas wedding and the Hangover Suite...I'm definitely envious. I love Vegas as wish I could do something there too. Maybe for our anniversary since everyone is crying broke already. If you don't mind me asking, how much is the suite costing you?

Does anyone know if you can make reservations at Le Chique before you check in? I know it's a long shot but I really want the experience.

So, here is the deal. My photographer is AMAZING!! SO SO SO talented...AND we just clicked!! Well, I feel like she has really flaked on me...I can't get her to respond to emails or texts or phone calls or anything, and I don't know what to do. I will get a random text every few weeks that says she is soooo sorry she hasn't posted the pics...blah blah blah...and will send me the pics and other things "first thing monday morning." Then I never hear from her. Also, this is so stupid, but it just confirms her flakiness to me. She borrowed my garmin to get back to the airport for our enagement pics 1 MONTH ago. Well, I have given her my fed ex acct number and address and everything like 5 times. She keeps saying she forgets to send it, and now just won't respond to me. Like, I said, I know this is dumb to worry about, but it just seems really shady on top of everything else. Get what I am saying? And in my job (I drive about 300-400 miles everyday all over the state of Alabama), a Garmin to me is equivalent to a hair dresser not having a blow dryer! haha It is almost impossible to get around these tiny towns everyday without one. I had to go buy a new one. So, to make a long story even longer, here is the bottom line: I am spending more money on my pictures than I can even stomach. Paying her fee, her travel, her travel to NOLA for engagement pics, etc etc etc etc has gotten WAAAAY out of control. BUT it is worth it to me. However, this shadiness is scaring me to death!!!!!! What would you guys do? And she blocked me on facebook from seeing her status updates. Ok, that sounds so stalker-like, but it is true...

Lindz, that sucks. I don't care how busy you are, if you are a business person that can't get to emails, you shouldn't give your email address out or hire a temp to answer them for you. Better yet, if she is just busy there are those automated messages that can go out saying such (I get them from my WC all the time, lol). I don't feel that's an excuse. And blocking you on fb....just shady. Let us know how that email goes (if she responds), but I would definitely have to come to some type of agreement with her before booking her plane ticket, etc to Mexico. There is still time to find someone else if she doesn't get her act together and I would stress that to her. She should definitely take into consideration the fact that brides are overly emotional and get back to you for that reason alone. Also, I would deduct the price of the Garmin from her final payment if you haven't already paid in full. My conscience wouldn't allow me to keep my mom's Garmin nevertheless a client's!!

Your pics came out fab! It would definitely be a shame to have to dissolve your business relationship with her so I hope it all works out. I especially like the ones @ The Columns (love their drinks also, lol) and I love those pumps. Cute, cute, cute!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
