Am I over reacting about the flower cost? Looks like for me & FI, 3 bridesmaids & 3 groomsmen will cost me about $1000 or more. I know flowers are expensive but REALLY? Is this typical? I am wondering if I need to get silk flowers... though I am not sure if it's that much cheaper. Any thoughts? Am I over reacting about the price?

Wow that's a lot of money, Chong, just for that!! Mine and my MOHs bouquets were 50 each. Even though they were the same price, mine was much much larger. Huge really. The boutonnieres were 25 each. Same with corsages for the moms. You must be getting some really stellar flowers! I know they raise prices every year but the price you gave seems a little out of control. If you throw in all the decoration flowers I could see it, but for just your stuff, no way!

Oh, and you can totally tell how nervous we were in the first few, but they get better as you go through them. Ok my photographer...I need advice!!

So, here is the deal. My photographer is AMAZING!! SO SO SO talented...AND we just clicked!! Well, I feel like she has really flaked on me...I can't get her to respond to emails or texts or phone calls or anything, and I don't know what to do. I will get a random text every few weeks that says she is soooo sorry she hasn't posted the pics...blah blah blah...and will send me the pics and other things "first thing monday morning." Then I never hear from her. Also, this is so stupid, but it just confirms her flakiness to me. She borrowed my garmin to get back to the airport for our enagement pics 1 MONTH ago. Well, I have given her my fed ex acct number and address and everything like 5 times. She keeps saying she forgets to send it, and now just won't respond to me. Like, I said, I know this is dumb to worry about, but it just seems really shady on top of everything else. Get what I am saying? And in my job (I drive about 300-400 miles everyday all over the state of Alabama), a Garmin to me is equivalent to a hair dresser not having a blow dryer! haha It is almost impossible to get around these tiny towns everyday without one. I had to go buy a new one. So, to make a long story even longer, here is the bottom line: I am spending more money on my pictures than I can even stomach. Paying her fee, her travel, her travel to NOLA for engagement pics, etc etc etc etc has gotten WAAAAY out of control. BUT it is worth it to me. However, this shadiness is scaring me to death!!!!!! What would you guys do? And she blocked me on facebook from seeing her status updates. Ok, that sounds so stalker-like, but it is true...

I saw that also...and called my TA to see if she knew anything about it. Supposedly she called her contact at the hotel and he said he was unaware about the construction and would look into the trip advisor post. Not sure what to believe but I kind of hope that trip advisor is worng and its just the spa.

I like that its a small hotel...and one of the main reasons I chose it!

Oh yikes! I haven't commented on this thread yet, but am considering AS so I read it frequently. I am so sorry your photog has gotten so flaky! I went to her website, and it appears to me she's unorganized. Her portfolio says a new website will be launched Jan 15th....it's the middle of May sister! I also looked at her blog and it has a post about "if you're trying to get a hold of me and I haven't answered, try again" or something like that. Eek. I'm not sure that communicates professionalism to me. I think you're perfectly justified to be nervous about her accountability. And to not return your Garmin?!? Yes, I'd be pissed too. If nothing else, she does owe it to you to respond and get that back to you.

She does do good work, and your e-pics look gorgeous....I guess my advice would be for you to decide if the drama she adds is worth her work. Good luck and again, I'm sorry you have this added drama.

Ooooh thanks for the heads up Wendy! My wedding is barely into 2011, so we may be affected by this (honestly, how often does construction end on time? Rarely!) but that's pretty neat that they'll have more rooms available and that the current rooms will be re-done.

It totally sucks that your photog is being pretty sketch. All of that shadiness would worry me, too. If it continues, I would look into doing a dispute with your credit/debit card company (if you paid her with a card) to see if you can get some of your money back, for services not rendered.
