I did double check, she said I must be confusing the two locations. Sadly, I'm wondering if I should just try to handle this when I get to the resort. I don't think she knew for sure but it's been over a week and she hasn't come back with the pool deck as an option for me. I would love to know how many different people train the WCs. I mean they work for the same resort but seem to all have different answers for all of us. Ugh!

We are getting married at Azul Sensatori, tentatively on April 2, 2011. I do have a couple of questions but my biggest one right now is the photographer, I would like to use someone other than the ones that are contracted through Karisma. Any suggestionshuh.gif I live in Phoenix and am not sure how to go about finding someone and so many of you have beautiful photos!!

Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Alissa

Congrats on choosing AS! I think it was the right choice (it was for me). You will go through some stressful situations, i.e. the photog issue but when you hear from everyone that gets married there they absolutely love it.

We chose to go with Andrew Jordan also. I got the resommendation from Wendy and when I got in touch with him he was very prompt and easy to talk to. So, its all about weighing your options and knowing how much money you want to spend. For us is a splurge but we figure we'll have the pics forever.

I found this forum couple months ago and found it sooooo helpful. It is pretty lengthy so I recommend having a glass of wine or two and take your time. Make sure to check out all the other postings on this website. I am basically glued to this computer when I come home from work.

Photog issue is definitely frustrating but I keep hearing wonderful stories from other brides who got married at AS or AB which makes me feel much better.

LOL, this doesn't surprise me one bit! At one point my WC said we were confirmed to have our reception at Spoon. My response was, "Um, Spoon? Isn't Spoon at Azul Sensatori? We're getting married at Azul Beach!" I used to ask her all kinds of detailed questions about the resort which she was never able to answer. Turns out she'd been on a tour of AB a couple of times but had never spent any real time there and has never stayed there. No wonder she wasn't familiar with the layout!!

This is for sure one of the most frustrating things to deal with, but if you have the facts up front about who you can and cannot have (which so many of us didn't!), then you can get past it pretty quickly. Having a Karisma wedding is so wonderful! -- except for this one issue.

Amy and Wendy!!! These stories are soooo sweet!!! I was literally in tears reading about your fi's reactions!!!!!!! I was telling my FI about your books and he seemed so confused...so now I am worried he won't even like mine sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

You seem like you are on top everything! YAY!!!!

Hey what about making a video slideshow online of your wedding pictures? VIMEO is a great site, and I don't think it takes long at all. I think you just upload your videos and music and it creates the show for you. I know how you feel about the weight, but do not worry! And you know how to drop 5 lbs in a week...I am sure you look fabulously happy and in love and complete!!!!

UGH this is sooooo sad!!! I am SO sorry!!! I was having a bad day about the wedding bawling my eyes out...then I felt guilty. So I know how you feel, but it is STILL you wedding and STILL important. It's all relative...
Now in regards to invites...I can help you. I did passport invites AND pocketfold invites all by myself...They were not expensive at all. I have a fabulous paper store online (Card Stock, Vellum Paper, Envelopes, Metallic Cardstock, Invitation Cards   Specialty Wedding Stationery - Paperandmore.com) that is VERY reasonable. Let me know how I can help you!!! You can email me if you like: lindzhayz@gmail.com

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!! SO excited for you!!!! AND PROUD that you lost allllll that weight!!! I can't wait to hear all about it when you return!! xoxoxoxoxoxo pinkie.gif

hahaha DEAR HUSBAND...that makes complete sense. I was thinking it was dedicated husband!
SAMMYHAWK!! COngrats MRS! and welcome back!! Can't wait to see pictures!
Just wondering more about this VIMEO since I now have an AHR to plan. Can you upload your wedding pictures to this and it will make a slideshow/video out of them?

Hey Alissa,
I got married at AS almost a year ago and I'm from Phoenix too. I'm not on the site much any more but I still get the emails with the latest posts and I was scrolling through and saw that you were from AZ and just had to say hello.
Like the other girls mentioned, AS is a great place to get married and I was very happy with my wedding. I did have Elizabeth Medina as my photographer and to be honest, she was a better decision than the resort decision! I guess the rules have changed since I was married there, because I had no trouble at all getting her approved. I didn't even have to pay the outside vendor fee since she was staying the night at the resort (which was part of her contract). So I haven't followed all of the changes but one thing for sure is that the rules do not get applied equally, so if there is something you want, email Fabio directly and ask for it! You may just have to wait a week for a response. sad.gif
I'd be happy to meet for coffee or a drink if you ever want to pick my brain about the hotel, photog situation or just talk about wedding planning in general, just PM me!
Congrats on picking a great place to get married!
Katherine

Well ladies, I think Azul Sensatori is going to be it. I am right now in the "budget approval" process with my FI's family and My family so as soon as we get those numbers firmed up I am going to start the booking process for May 2012. Does anyone know if they charge more for holidays? I am thinking Memorial Day May 2012 because we will only need a symbolic ceremony and according to them they only perform those M-Th

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
