Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi!! I am new to this forum and could use some help!

My name is Alissa and we are planning on getting married at Azul Sensatori on April 2, 2011 (tentatively). We are looking different options for photographers then the ones that are contracted through the resort, I know there is a additional fee to bring someone in. We live in Phoenix and I am not sure the best way to go about finding a photographer. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Ladies

Hi!! I am new to this forum but am pretty excited because it looks like you all have a ton of great information!!

We are getting married at Azul Sensatori, tentatively on April 2, 2011. I do have a couple of questions but my biggest one right now is the photographer, I would like to use someone other than the ones that are contracted through Karisma. Any suggestionshuh.gif I live in Phoenix and am not sure how to go about finding someone and so many of you have beautiful photos!!

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Alissa

Welcome Alissa! I have just joined here myself and have been confirmed on 5/28/11 at the Sensatori. All I can tell you, and I'm pretty bitter about it myself right now, is that if you bring a photographer from home, you are required to pay a 3-night stay for them. If you pick a photographer outside of the approved vendor list that resides in Mexico, you must pay a $500 outside vendor fee. Sucks, I know. :-(

I hope this helps and I hope you find these boards useful. They have been a lifesaver for me and have fully sucked me in. :-)

Take Care!

Hi Alissa! welcome4.gif

The best advice is to go back and read through this thread. It's quite lengthy but there's great info!

Okay, best to clear up the photog issue from the start: You CANNOT use a Mexican photographer other than the ones contracted through the resort. If you don't like the ones they have, you must bring someone from outside Mexico. So, don't get your heart set on someone like Elizabeth Medina or Claudia Rodriguez b/c you can't use them sad.gif If you bring someone, they either have to stay at the resort for 3 nights OR they can stay somewhere else and you pay the $500 outside vendor fee.

Many of us have brought photographers with us and it's been the best decision we've made! You often get more bang for your buck when you bring someone. For me personally, I brought Andrew Jordan. He's based out of Cleveland. Since he has a house near the resort, he chose to stay there and I paid the outside vendor fee (cheaper than a 3 night stay). You can check him out under my siggy.

Amy (Kittenheart) brought Chris Schmitt with her from California and she got fabulous pictures as well! There's lots of great photogs out there you just have to pick one that suits your style and budget.

I hear you!! The whole thing did not make me happy either, so I agree with you. My TA has recommended a photographer in Riv Maya so we will see how things shake out. But I absolutely agree!!

All thanks to you! Now if you can tell me how to put everyone's to-do's together I may try to start next week. That's if Lindz changes her mind. She told me she was leaving for a business trip this morning so she may be a little busy.

Thanks! The funeral is Saturday, so that will be sad but we do plan to go out for drinks later. Hopefully that will lighten the mood although it kinda seems inappropriate I think we all need a little pick me up.

I found out after I made the decision to continue on the beach that the backup was actualy the open air area next to the Mojito lounge, not sure what it is called, so that isn't bad if anyone else happens to encounter rain on their wedding day. The saddest part is that we didn't have the opportunity to do any pictures together in my original wedding dress. I had acrylics placed in the solon and a pedicure the morning of the wedding. I would definitely advise to get this done at home first. I was just thinking the french tips on my toes and polish on my nails wouldn't hold up if I was end the pool several days before the wedding. The girls in the solon were very very nice, but very slow. My appts were for 8&9 and I didn't get out of the solon until 12. I still had to shower and get our music to the wedding coordinator and then arrange to do my own hair and makeup with the photographer to photograph. So that ran late, I was literally getting into my dress just minutes before we were suppose to meet at the ceremony site. So that is definitely the sadest part. We got some great morning after the wedding shots in my second dress, but I'm sad I didn't get more use out of my original dress. I am looking forward to wearing it in June at our AHR, but no fantastic photographer at that event sad.gif. Anyway, I will try to get on that planning thread. We actually found out yesterday that we are getting relocated. So I have a lot of new planning stress..here I thought I would have a little bit of a break after the wedding. We just relocated here (St. Louis) from Iowa last May, and just built a beautiful home and thought we would for sure be hear atleast 3-5 years. Well my hubby found out yesterday he is getting promoted (yay) but that means moving to Little Rock, AR. I have so many mixed feelings. I cannot believe we are moving again and so soon and so far from our families. We cannot tell anyone until next week, after it is announced with the company, but I am freaking out a little bit. It was totally stressful last year relocating and we have to do it all over again! House hunt and job hunt, the second time in a year! I still have unpacking to do, but ever since I found out about the relo I have done nothing but internet research. I went from wedding planning to planning another major move. Wish me luck girls, and in my down time- when I want to not think about the move anymore I will post some of my planning stuff.

Good luck to you and your hubby. I'm sure everything will work out. Going through trials like this will make your marriage stronger. I know it sucks, especially since you built a house and all. The positive in this is being able to meet new people and experience new things.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
