Im back from my wedding at the Sensatori!! I had the most AMAZING day!! We were so lucky!!First to even get out there because of the volcanic ash and secondly with the weather! It rained everyday before the wedding, monsoon rain!!! but on the day it was perfect.

The WC are really good there, they did everything lovely! We had our ceremony on the sky deck, which was beautiful (bit windy), we had the mexican cocktail party in the yoga area, where we had the mariachi band and the donkey - which were a huge hit, then we had the reception in the (cant remember what it was called) gazebo by the pool, which was fab!!

The best thing though-was our photographer -CHRIS SCHMITT- he was awesome!!!! Im so glad we got him-thank you for recommending him amy- he was so nice to work with and we are so so pleased with our photos. Here is the link to them:

Honestly though, you have nothing to worry about!! they have about two weddings a day, the WC are very organised and will have everything under control. The resort is lovely and the staff are lovely. Its the people who are there that will make your day anyway!!

I just want to say "hi" to Melissa -sun kissed bride(I think) she got married a couple of days after me, and Andrew and I spent our last night down on the beach with Melissa and Cody getting very drunk!! but it was fun!!! :-) hope you had a safe trip home!

Goodluck with the planning girlies!!!

...you were so cute asking if you could call anyone! ...I don't think you can but thanks for the offer :)

The owner of our travel agency called and apologized for the way this situation was presented and she is being very cooperative in helping us get this sorted out. It will not work for us to leave on the day we had planned, so we have to change our wedding date. Due to the hassle of changing the flight, they are reimbursing our guests $150 and upgrading our room. However, because we have to change our wedding date, we have to get our engravings on our rings changed, and our photographer is no longer available. The TA said they will pay for our deposit if we lose it, but I'm going to expect more than that because I still can't have Claudia who I wanted. A lot of things are still up in the air, but the TA is working on it....I'm not even sure if I can still have our reception at the venue we want with the date changed. i will keep you updated. thanks for listening and your support!

Oh gosh!!! Well, I bet you can find an even better photographer!! Can you look at flying someone in? Chris Schmidt is awesome and LOVES destination weddings. I bet he would work with you on the travel costs. Also, my photographer is great too!!! Her name is Lauren Harris Photography. You should contact them ASAP! Sometimes flying in a photographer ends up being cheaper...AND you get pictures the whole weekend!! They usually include free sessions such as BD, engagement, trash the dress, etc. That's what my photographer is doing! We are here to help!!!!

Anneliese, welcome back!!!

Wonderful pictures! LOL, the picture of you two on the sky deck during the recessional really reminds me of my wedding day--the beautiful, stormy sky in the background. We just got back too and had the exact same experience. Monsoon-type rain every day up until wedding day. Beautiful wedding morning and the clouds/storms rolled in around ceremony time.

Soooooo glad you had an amazing experience!

Oh Meghan I am confident they will work their butts off to work this out for you! The resort people are just so accommodating and given that you've already got everything set, they'll move heaven and earth to make it the way you want it!! Really, truly I know it's going to work itself out. Hang in there!!!!!

I agree with Lindz on the photog, there's lots of great ones out there and you do get a lot of bang for your buck when you bring one. Does Claudia have any other recommendations for you? She must refer business out to someone.

Hey ladies! Just checking back in. I just booked my honeymoon in Cozumel for the week after the wedding. We're staying at Cozumel Palace and I am SO excited! We splurged for a concierge-level suite, so I am ready to be pampered! Just wishing these next 9 months will fly by...I'm sure they will!

Also started sending out inquiries on photographers. I'm not super impressed with the photogs recommended by the resort (I e-mailed Matias Cano a couple of months ago and never heard back...awesome!). My budget is pretty tight, though, so I may have to end up going with one of them anway sad.gif Fingers crossed that one of the photogs I've e-mailed is within my budget!!!

AmyBermuda....how many days now? I'm so excited for you!!!

I totally understand you freaking out about this (I would be too!) BUT I've heard that even if the weather says 90% or 100% of anything, it could mean it does that for, like, 10 minutes during the day. It's kind of like Florida...you'll have beautiful sunshine allll day, and then for 20 minutes in the afternoon it rains like the dickens, and then is beautiful sunshine again for the rest of the day. Just enough to break up the crazy heat and make everything smell fresh and rainy, and then sunshine again!

Either way, I'm sure your trip and wedding will be amazing! Think positive!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
