Pay no attention to that! The forecast online didn't change for our entire trip. It always said scattered showers/ 40% chance of rain. It was perfectly sunny some days and it still said that.

Oh boo. 19 of my guests had booked their flights, non-stop from Baltimore to Cancun for a great price. Then today they get an email that the airline has changed their itinerary and they now leave like 4 hours earlier and on the way back they have a 5.5 hour lay-over in Atlanta. So not what they signed up for. Uggh, I can't believe that happened. Needless to say everyone is in a tizzy. My mom is stressed and it's become my problem the folks at AirTran don't have their stuff together. My mom has me researching the next best flights to book with a different airline and this is for 19 ppl many of which are leaving and coming on different days. Uggh so not fair. Like I don't have enough to do.

Oh that is so annoying! I looked at Cancun area resorts b/c USA3000 flew there super cheap from BWI - then of course in December they stopped their service to Cancun! I really hope that Airtran can reimburse people. I think otherwise you can look at United direct from Dulles (which sucks w/ DC traffic) or there might be US Air direct out of Reagen. Do you have a TA that can do this work for you? Its not fair for people to pu it on the bride. We brides dont need any more stress!

There is absolutely no reason you should be doing this for people! They're adults and should be able to figure this out for themselves. Their flight changes are not your job! At the very least you could assign one of the 19 people to help you, like your mom. Amy's advice is good about getting a TA.

The same thing happened to me and a lot of my guests, got an email last week that all of our flights changed. I can't believe the HUGE delay and layover though! My flights changed by 15 minutes one way and an hour the other.

AS and AB share the same banquet kit so I thought I'd chime in on this one. We did the Set Menu with the Mahi-mahi and apple-curry risotto. Everyone said it was the best mahi they'd ever had and that it was the best wedding food they'd ever had! Seriously, the food is ridiculous it's so good.



OMG the cake the cake!!! Seriously amazing. A frustrating thing about AB is that you get 3 cake choices for flavors: vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. We were fortunate that they agreed to do a cake tasting with us onsite and we're so glad we did! By far the best was the strawberry (not necessarily what you would expect). The resort kindly honored our request for buttercream instead of fondant (we hate fondant) and the combined finish product was so good that our guests ate ALL the cake! Not kidding. Some people had 3 and 4 pieces! It's kinda funny b/c we fought for months with Karisma so that we could take our leftover cake back to our room and it ended up being a moot point. I was sad b/c I only got one piece! I didn't dream there wouldn't be leftover cake (2 large tiers for only 22 adults). Had I known I would have had them set some aside for me.

Now as for the cake design, we chose option D and it looked absolutely NOTHING like the picture. In fact, it was done very sloppily and was quite a disappointment. I'm really glad we didn't pay the extra $$ for a custom design we liked b/c I would have been livid.

We had a private reception on the Blue Terrace. There is no bar right there. You're assigned private waiters to serve your event and they bring all the drinks to you. They're quite speedy so you don't have to wait. As for dancing, the Terrace is large enough that we had plenty of room for dancing. It's a tile/stone floor so we didn't need to rent the dance floor. We had 4 tables of 8 on the perimeter with the dance floor in the middle.

OH NO!!!!! I have 28 people booked on AirTran's straight flight from Baltimore to Cancun!!!!!smile27.gif Do you know what made them change the itinerary and when it goes into effect? My guests are leaving on July 29th.
