Ladies who are getting married in 2011. What are you finding is the avg Price per person you guests are spending on the trip? I am narrowing down resorts and the cost to my guest is one factor. A ballpark would be awesome! Thanks!

PS This forum rocks and is so helpful!

Katie I agree, you look tiny girl! No wonder they had to keep taking in your dress!

No, I want to stand all night and I want the dress to hug my curves, why not? This the most expensive dress I've ever bought, why sit!?

hahaha I totally agree...I am getting mine as fitted as I can! I want to stand in my dress the whole night!!! It's too cute to sit down wink.gifsmile117.gif

Have most people booked already? I am truly impressed that you are able to get everyone booked 3 months in advance, I still have people booking and buying their flights and I'm not even kidding.
I just hope I have time to do them!!!! It's a lot of DIY involved...I think?!? I need them to go out in 1 month. I think I can do it.

Well, let's not get too ahead of ourselves...I have 15 rooms (30 people) booked or BOOKED THROUGH DEPOSIT. SO, that doesn't mean they have officially booked, they have simply put down the $300 deposit...let's hope they don't back out! I sent them a "nice" email 2 weeks saying the rooms had to be booked by April 23rd, or I have to release the rooms. If I release the rooms, instead $400 a night, they will be $640 a night. I think that motivated them a little. So, all of FI's guys have booked...11 groomsmen (2 cant go) and his family. I have 2 bridesmaids that have booked. Hopefully, they will by the end of this week.

It's crazy how you can look so forward to one day for the past 14 months... and then something so tiny can change it all! LOL We're now looking at late January/ February. We sent an email to our TA this morning to go over prices, perhaps other resorts... I'm sad that it might not be the AS.

If it's not the AS, I hope you all don't disown me! I'd miss you ladies way too much!
CONGRATS!!! That's so exciting! It will be here before you know it...now you have 2 awesome surprises to celebrate! What a great couple of months for you!!!!!!!

haha girls, thank you all, but i'm really not just saying it, but they are good photos! in no other pictures (or real life!) do I look that tiny! the one thing I was disappointed about with the dress is that I didn't think I looked that slim in it - and that's me being honest...not just a moan! but, I just keep telling myself that other people have said that I look slim in it, so I just have to hope others see what they saw (or didn't see! lol) and not what I do!!

guttingly tho, I just weighed myself and I've put on about 3lbs so now I've seriously got to sort myself out. I have been slack on the working out the past few weeks so I shouldn't really be that surprised but still sucks! at least it's given me a kick up the backside that I need to get back on it again. tomorrow is a new day and i'm going to rock it!

and now do you see why it would be a shame to have a veil!?!?

The waist and hips isn't as tight as I thought ti would be... I didn't want to be able to sit down and I told her that but no one listens sad.gif
aw Amy sad.gif I know there's nothing I can really say that's going to make you feel any different right now, but you are gorgeous and you have a figure that I don't know of one girl on here who wouldn't pay to have a figure like yours.

and don't forget that the mood you're in when you try anything on can affect how you see yourself in it. maybe you weren't feeling too up when you went to have the fitting?

and you will be able to breathe, and don't worry about bending down - why would you want to?! lol and on the plus side, at least you can be sure it's not going to fall down and leave you with a wardrobe malfunction.

as for the waist and hips that you don't think is tight enough - tell her. go back and tell her you want it tighter. you know you won't be able to sit down, and that's fine because that's how you want it to be. if she can't do it in 2 weeks, find someone who can. it's not ideal I know, but there are options and so long as you have options, it will all be ok :)

let us know how you get on, and if you feel differently in the morning.

did anyone take pictures? just so you can see it through a camera rather than your own cynical eyes? maybe you'd feel differently looking at them?

Big hug. xx

I went for my last dress fitting a week ago and it was too tight in the ribs as well. She made it that way so it wouldn't fall down. It was so tight I couldn't breathe and I could not stand it. So, she made it looser, but then we added a one shoulder strap to hold it up. I think you should tell her if it is not done the way you want it.

Katie,your dress looks beautiful!

Maggie - I think there is only 1 bride for 2011 on here for AS. I would call a TA and get prices or check the Karisma webiste. They have prices listed for the coming 12+ months.

Not sure about most here, I know some got deals, but my guests are all paying rack room rates. But my TA sucks, so maybe you could get a 20% discount max?

I was very happy with my photographer javier, I myself do some photography on the side as a hobby and I found my photographer very easy and fun to work with. I got what I paid for $500. totally worth it. Hope this helps :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
