Like Amy said below... GOOGLE! Gotta love it :) I was writing my vows last night and was looking at the suggestions on the knot and they were actually really helpful - Wedding Vows & Readings: 20 Tips for Writing Your Own Wedding Vows ? Wedding Planning ? Wedding Ceremony - By TheKnot.com

We're also writing our own ceremony and vows. For the ceremony part we've taken a lot of ideas from "The Wedding Ceremony Planner." It's got TONS of ideas in it for wording.

I hadn't heard of this until you and amyb mentioned it. I just googled it and LOVE it! We might just have to revise our ceremony a bit to include this. Thanks ladies!!

Grrrrrr, that's so frustrating!!!! The things they think they can get away with!

FI is mega, mega stressed about money so that doesn't help.

The wedding seems to have lost all feeling and emotion and like it's just one big stress! I know it's just right now it feels like that, and it will get better, but as the time gets closer and money gets tighter and tighter, this is becoming less fun sad.gif

Sorry to moan....I know you guys will/can cheer me up!

You are definitely not the only one out there going through this!! It seems like as the wedding gets closer and closer, FI and I grow farther apart. We both know that it's just the never-ending, months-long stress finally taking its toll, but still it sucks smile27.gif

It doesn't help that he's working CRAZY hours right now, like 9am-11:30pm, so he's not around to help with all this little stuff that's left at the end. He really wants to be here and would rather be helping me, so I give him credit for that. I just want this all to be done so I can sip some Mexican cocktails and soak up the sun!!!!

Yikes! I haven't had too many wedding nightmares yet, but my dreams are wedding, wedding, wedding. And God help me if I wake up at all...I'll never get back to sleep b/c my brain goes into overdrive.

I am so livid - they are trying to blame it all on Francisco who is no longer the WC at the hotel. We went on a site visit and they are trying to say that becuase he didn't leave any notes in "our file", etc. that we cannot have this space - um, no. I am livid. My TA is trying to work this out, but I may need to do it myself.

Azul Beach brides - do any of you have a print out of the reception options before they recently changed them? Since I didn't think they would screw with me, I never thought to print out the options that were available back in November! I am supposed to get married in 6 weeks - yes, 36 days. are you freaking kidding me?!

This is such crap Suzanne!!!!!! I thought it was the Terrace they were trying to take from you not Chill. Why wouldn't they give you Chill? It's a smaller restaurant from my understanding. And besides, now that they won't give the Terrace based on the argument that it's their largest seating area and they can't afford to close it down, I would think Chill would be one of their fallbacks.

Unfortunately, the private reception options I was emailed from Tiffany way back when were: The beach, the Wave Lounge, the Blue Terrace. I have nothing saying Chill. But based on Amyb's answer, it seems we're all told different things.

And yes, it absolutely SUCKS that they wait until this close to our dates to throw this at us. As if us brides are not stressed enough so close to our dates!

That made him laugh at least...

At least most of you didn't wakeup to an earthquake to the new 4am (still feels like 3am) this morning and then layed awake in bed until my alarm went off at 5am.

Yeah, the excitement hasn't quite kicked in yet. I do have my moments of pure joy and elation but they're not as often as I'd like.

Sooooo glad you're okay from the earthquake!!!

I just have to say: My BD shoot was sooooooo fantastic!! Thank you everyone for all the encouragement! I saw some of the preliminary pics and I have to say that I look pretty damn hot wink.gif I wasn't nervous in the slightest. In fact, I was excited and overjoyed at finally getting to do this. Now if only I could respond that way to the wedding, lol.

My shoot was 1.5 hours and we had the complete run of a B&B just outside of town. Antique furniture and couches, giant beds, large windows--I can't wait to show off the pictures when I get them!

Lolo I knew knew knew you'd come back raving and put everyone at ease at how perfect your day was!!!! You had such a ROCKING dress. I dont even remember you talking about it. I love the pix of you and hubby - your contrasting looks are perfect for eachother.

Our GMs are wearing tan shirts like yours and I was concerned about the color (or blandness) b/c I had not seen any weddings in tan, but it looked great.

Your hair & make up looks super as well - but i think you had friends doing it right? I mean, that is your profession & all!

Glad you had perfect weather and everything was wonderful. I keep thinking wedding at 430 and reception ending at 11 - I'll get bored - but I know, I suppose it does go fast, even with a small amt of people in mexico!

Wendy - you make me want to do a BD shot... I cannot wait to see a teaser pic.

And Crista, now I want pashminas.... LOL need to stop NOW! :)

And Suzanne, how many guests do you have? Its so annoying but my work is the same way - you have to get nasty in order to get what you want - sucks that you have to go through this sad.gif

Question for my American ladies... For my shopping trip next week I'm looking for a TTD. Is David's bridal a good place to look? I really don't want to spend much. Today I received an email about the $99 sale. Is it worth it to take the time to check out David's Bridal?

Lolo's your TTD pic's really inspired me!

lolo,

Welcome back!! Gorgeous grown, fab pics and soooo happy for you!! My FI liked the pics as well. He liked the in TTD photos in the street. I love it when he gets excited and adds input. What package did you choose because your set up was perfect! Did you have a private reception and where. If this is toooo many questions let me know. Can't wait for the detailed review!!! Congrats Lolo!!!

Sorry ladies this may be so redundant but how soon should I make definite plans with the coordinators. It seems they change there minds about the terms often so should i lock in fees now or wait. What packages did you use and money saving ideas us 2011 brides look out for?

I'm talking about the actual vase or whatever you choose that you keep. Click my planning thread, I have a pic of mine in there.

Interesting. I was told it would still cost me if I brought my own sand, so I was like wtf, may as well use their's.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
