Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Oh thanks Ginger - that's good to know. The set menus are the better deals.

Yeah - I know - imagine me telling one of my clients that I dont tolerate rudeness and I refuse to work with them. I would be out of a job in no time. I picked a small business owner, so that's her prerogative, but seriously unprofessional.

Oh no the 2nd one I bought which is one shoulder I haven't tried on yet (April 2nd I will!). And the first one I have decided I dont like anymore. Remember, wishy washy Libra! hahaha

Yeah, I gave my FI a To Do list at the beginning of January. His main thing was to book the party barge for our AHR. Um, that just happened on Monday!!

Seriously, refusing service like that just shouldn't be an option. It seems your TA has forgotten the bigger picture here and that like AmyKH said, she's working FOR YOU! I hope you can smooth all this over!

Lucky, I wish I had spring break! Instead my life is work, working out, wedding stuff and errands... oh eat and sleep.
Mine keeps growing too with little details I've forgotten. The latest being a nice padded hanger that I need to buy for my dress.

I am very lucky to work for the school district and get spring break!

Then that's all the more reason for her to want your friend's business, IMO. She's small and can't afford the hit that a larger company could absorb. She should also be more concerned about her reputation since the majority of her business probably comes from referrals.

Wow I dont think I am close enough to know all the small details I am forgetting.

Just spoke to the hotel - as long as the room is reserved for one - an additional person can show up and pay the rack rate the day of. Good bye TA! I dont want to rock the boat with this unstable lady now, but as soon as the wedding is over there will be some back lash. RACK RATE... thats what we are all paying anyways..... Its crazy - I got NO deal for booking 20% of the resort. Its my fault for picking her, but boy do I ever regret it.

Oh, I had one dress and then bought another. They are both from nordstrom so returnable at full price so its not a huge deal. I just need to pick one when I am home for my shower over Easter weekend. I just got white dresses. Knew if I stepped foot into a bridal salon I'd fall in love with a $5k dress....

I saw you guys talking about costs of the hotel. I am not going through a TA, I am going through the hotel and they are having a deal through Karisma Resorts. It is called the "bride and groom stay free" promotion. If you are getting married at any of the Karisma resorts I'm pretty sure it applies (which it looks like you are Azul Beach). The promotion is that if you book more than 5 rooms, everyone in your party gets 20% off the rack rate and the bride a groom stay free for an average of the # of nights your guests stay in the same room category. For example, I have most of my guests staying in the jacuzzi jr suites and they are staying for an average of 4 nights. So.....we get a jacuzzi jr suite free for four nights. We are upgrading and using the credit to get the credit towards a honeymoon suite. I also think you get 20% off all services like reception, dinner etc. Did you get this deal? If not, you should call the hotel directly and they should give it to you. I just asked and they said it shouldn't matter if you have a TA. Good luck!

Hmm, when I went to book my wedding date (last January) we were required to use a travel agent. That's a pretty sweet deal but I doubt it would apply to me at all. I already got the Free Sweet Wedding package which was only offered for a minute.

Thanks Erin. I qualify for another promotion which is not as good. It was called "Its all about the bride" however it is for room upgrades and resort credit of $1k (which is less than 20% of my reception costs). Since my hotel is booked, there would not be any upgrades, so I am going to see if I can switch to the promotion you are receiving.

They've had this promotion for along time now. Sadly for whatever reason, FINE PRINT, none of this applied to me. And trust me i tried. So good luck to anyone getting to use any of these, any and every discounts help!!!
BUT I would be interested in hearing back about anyone that gets the discounts. I thought all along I was going to get atleast the 20% off my private function, but nope. They didn't tell me until my invoice was due that no discounts were available to me.

I actually got the free sweet wedding package and the bride and groom stay free promotion. You should check into it because it is going on at least through june. It's a great deal and since I'm bringing some fabric from home and flowers too all I have to pay for are some rose petals and chairs. My bill is around $100 for the whole wedding! I'm getting a free dinner for 40 people after the wedding that is "semi-private" They curtain off part of a restaurant which is fine with me and then we're going to go party at the mojito lounge after. I was at el dorado royal for vacation in october 09 and the DJ let us hook our ipod up and dance the night away. I talked to some people at the hotel and they said there may be a live band for awhile early and then after 10pm there is a DJ and it shouldn't be a problem to hook our ipod up.......obviously up to the Dj of course, but I'm just gonna wing it and I'm sure it will be great fun no matter how it turns out! We have a group of 40 people going so we'll bring the party with us!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
