gift cards (maybe they're called something else over there!!) are little card things you get from the shop you do your 'gift list' with so you can write you gift list number on it for people to choose a gift from if they want to buy you something.

yeah I know Meghan...at the moment I'm debating whether to say anything at all (I'm NOT a confrontational person) and just let her get on with it, or say something but not sure what that would achieve, or not say anything and just accept that once the weddings done, I'll just have to move on and leave it at that. I just don't have the energy for hatred, or rowing, or anything like that. FI makes me laugh because he says 'i love you for it, it's one of the things I love most about you, but you'd do anything for anyone but you let people walk all over you because your too nice all the time'! lol what can you do?!

If I remember correctly, I don't think they charge the $500 if they are staying at the resort. At my resort, there is a similar policy. And all I have to pay is for her 3 nights. AND the plane ticket!! UGH!!!!!!!!!!

Also sorted out my remaining bridesmaid's new dress (we wanted to get her a better dress kinda as a thank you and also as she's now on her own). thought, 'great, sorted' then went to order it online today (so we had a brand new one) and it says there's either a problem with the link or they're not stocking it anymore...arrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhh if its the latter, I am going to have a nervous breakdown....this was the only dress we found that everyone agreed on in about FOUR shopping trips! so please keep your fingers crossed for me! (you'll all know soon enough!! lol) inserts are done after a nightmare - i did them in Publisher on my PC, and then sent them to my email so i could open it on my dad's (which has the printer) except he's got a mac and doesn't recognise Publisher. Then copied it over on my Pc into a word doc and after much more fiddling about, got there, sent it to myself again, but when I opened it on my dads, it didn't like the changes I'd made to it in word! so FI just rewrote it all out in a word doc on my dads pc and we just had to forgo all the fancy editing and formatting. but hey, its done now. got our gift cards finally sorted after FI decided he didn't like the one we did in the shop and so did a new one online. then he decided he didn't really like that one and wanted to add to the one we did in the shop. long story short, I made it be ok with the one he did online and we just added some more things to it. so i then could write the gift list number on all the cards to go in with the invites! lol and finally...don't know what you will make of this, but on Friday I found out my BF (the one who's dropped out - you all remember that?! lol) is going to the Dominican Republic with her boyf for a week, just the 2 of them (her birthday present)....just a week BEFORE we all fly out for the wedding. think im in shock or numb because I really don't know how I feel about that or if I feel anything at all. ah well....I'm off to stuff envelopes with all our invites and inserts, so night all xx

It sounds like you were SUPER productive!! I know everything didn't go exactly as planned, but "well done you!" ha I agree with your FI too...you would rather get it right than stare at it everyday and wished you had purchased a different ring!

OMG! I am speechless about your friend. However, nothing surprises me these days. What are you going to do?

Katie - I am shocked that your BM would even tell you that after all of the drama with her not being able to come to your wedding. Its sorta a slap in the face. Sure it was a gift but its still not cool at all. I am sorry.

As others have said, it's one or the other. We're paying to fly 2 photographers down and for both of them to stay the 3 days, plus her fee to shoot the wedding. It's not the cheapest thing in the world, but we did not really like the two options we were given and the pictures are the one thing that I am particular about, so we opted to spend the money.
