I chose the song and FI loved it so much he won't go with anything else now. The song is Paramore (I know, I know) "The Only Exception"

The lyrics are kind of bitter and jaded but that's how FI and I were about relationships when we met... both out of looooong relationships and swore we'd never be in another one again :)

Anyway, do all have any idea where the Azul Beach thread disappeared to? I have to finally make some actual decisions and give Tiffany some information by next week and looked to get the email of someone that got married there in October and it's vanished. I emailed the administrator yesterday, but have not heard anything. I think Amy is the only Beach Resort person, but I thought maybe you girls might know where it went!

Thanks!
I was following that thread too and I haven't seen it for awhile now. I don't know how much help we can be but you're more than welcome to hang out with us here! :)

I really don't think 2 would take away from our wedding and I hate to think that we act like its not special when BOTH days really will be..... He thinks it would be funny to do #1 b/c its next to the Post Office and so lame - they have this screen that they pull down that is cheesy and looks like you are on the beach (no way - totally fake) for pictures. LOL Decisions, decisions.
OMG!!! The first one is AMAZING!! I would hands down do that. I would seriously cheese it up as much as I could. You could wear a hot pink wedding dress if you wanted too!! haha And like Amy said, you could keep this picture forever. And no one would even know what you were doing. THEN you could go out to dinner, etc. It would be a great story to tell the kids one day. wink.gif I think sunglass need to be involved if you are standing in front of the "fake beach." Classic.

ohhhh I just googled the lyrics and I love it! What an awesome song to dance to. Yeah less traditional, but then again getting married on a roof deck in Mexico is kind not following traditions either! I am going to have to iTunes the song when I get home from work.

I think I am walking down the aisle to Alicia Keys - If I got you. Does anyone know how to burn CDs where you can delete the first amounts of seconds from the songs? I hate the long intros - esp for the recessional song - need to get right to the lyrics.

I'm glad you like it!! My friends just aren't fans... I think it's just unique, not over the top and just our style. We could easily dance to it too I think. You have a good point, not much is traditional about this wedding!

Awww I love Alicia Keys, I saw her in concert in Vegas once. I remember a thread on BDW that taught you how to do that specifically with iTunes and I know you can download a trial of softwares online that can do that. I'm going to find it...

I actually have gotten A LOT of information from you guys (like the infamous $500 outside vendor rule!) There was someone that got married there in October (which was odd b/c when we were there in late October, the onsite person was telling us about her wedding and decorations and then I got online and randomly "found" her and saw pictures of what he was talking about!) Just wanted to see what they did with food, etc. since I am at a loss. We are only having 16 guests, which includes 5 children, so I was curious what they did.

But it's strange, the thread is just completely MIA! Oh well! :)

And Amy - totally go the cheesy route!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
