I think I'd pull the leaf down and to the side, so it's under but off sideways from the orchid and then see if you can attach a small starfish pin or make one out of bling. That's how I'd incorporate both. I totally think you can have both items, but not the way they are.

Also, you really need to see what it will look like on a suit. Even if you just pin it onto your FI's suit hanging on a hanger and then take a pic for us :)

But take a break and go back to it later.

I'll show you if I find anything like what I'm suggesting :)

Here are some inspiration pics:

A simple starfish boutonniere (it's hot-glued to a brooch pin):

A starfish with a bit of pearl spray (could also be done with wire and crystals, for bling!) Click the image to open in full size.

Flower bigger with a small shell/starfish on the green bit - I know you can get those same ones really tiny - finger starfish:

I tried really quick today to do my DIY Starfish Bout and this is all I came up with so far. Maybe it will be inspirational to you (maybe not, LOL) but its a work in progress

I havent glued anything together yet bc I want to spray paint the starfish white. I'm not sure if I like the blingy part, I may pick something different to stick in there. Then I have to figure out how to wrap the bottom, although at Michaels I saw that green tape that florist use so I may have to pick some up and experiment.

I agree with someone else who said to pull the leaf down and use a smaller starfish on the stem of the flower.

I think the flower and stem are beautiful but in order to make the bout not so big, you will need to make something smaller.

Great effort - I am not even going to TRY to do a bout.

Jenny - I have some pretty small starfish if you want me to send you some. How many would you need? I am going away for the weekend (a DW!) right after work, but I can check when I get back how many I have that still have all five points. They seem like they might be smaller then yours are. (At least they seem smaller in my head)

Here is a pic from ebay of ones that I have

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
