Bridal Party Costs

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering what everyone is doing regarding the bridal party expenses. I feel that since everyone is spending so much to fly out to Jamaica, I don't want to have them spend more money on dresses, shoes, etc. I would love to pay for the dresses, but am not sure it is in my budget. I am looking to find the cheapest dresses possible, but still want something that everyone will like and can wear again. I am just wondering what others have done?

I bought the dresses for the girls. I actually got a great deal on them, only $60.00 each, and they dont have to have them altered. But it wasnt easy finding something cheap that fit everyone. Also all of the girls in my bridal party is flying out with us, so we are paying for a Limo to get us to the airport so they dont have to worry about that.

I bought their $55 dresses. I only had two girls so it wasn't too much. I found them at nordstroms. Another thought- allow them to pick out dresses in the same color different styles, etc. It would allow them to find something they really like and cheap.

My BMs really didn't have too many expenses- besides their trip. I bought their hair clips, dresses. I made them jewelry-each different and they didn't wear shoes. Pretty easy!

i couldnt afford to buy the dresses for my 3 BMs but i did buy them each a tote bag with their name embroidered on it with some assorted goodies, and i had custom earrings made for each of them at $20 a piece. in total i spent about $50 on each girl. i wouldve spent about $500 if i'd paid for their dresses, and if i had then i wouldnt have been able to also afford a gift.

We did- we only had one guy though. We bought his shirt and pants. I think it was a total of $80- maybe less.

I also bought the girls embroidered beach bags. For the best man, I let DH take care of his gift. He got him some flip flops, swim trunks and a shirt. An outfit I suppose. LOL

I didn't have any showers and we paid for our co-bachelor party. We asked that everyone that went chipped in since we rented a HUGE party bus. I think it was $40 per person so the bridal party paid for their portion to go, along with all of our other friends. We covered the gratuities and other expenses. It was FUN.

We can't afford to pay for the girls dresses even though I'd love to...but I did give each girl several chances to opt out of being in the wedding. I told that that I want them to be there and I want them to be in it, but if they can't afford it, we really do understand and if it came down to it, we'd rather them be there than not come because they can't afford to come and be in it.

I paid for all their dresses. They picked out different styles in the same color so they got a dress they like. I know it's a lot, but it's not nearly as much as they're doing for me!

BUT, I've also got money saved, so it was budgeted out. It's up to you. They'll appreciate anything you do, I'm sure.

You can probably find some great dresses right now for good prices since it's dress season :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
