Newbie getting married in Cabo!

Hi! My name is Season and my fiancee and I are planning to wed in September of 2009 in Cabo. I feel lost trying to figure everything out and weed through all these wedding planners and such. I'm just looking for any advice from anyone that's been wed in Cabo, or any suggestions. Should I use a wedding planner or use a resort? Is there any inparticular that I should stay away from? I also heard September was hurricane season in Cabo so we might need to switch up the date now too. Sorry if this post went on but any suggestions or advice would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank yousmile29.gif

September is definitely the worst month, weather-wise. I'd say that's something you definitely need to consider!

Whether or not you want a wedding co-ordinator (WC) will depend on which resort/location you choose to have your ceremony and reception at. Some girls have the reception at the same place they stay all week, and some girls go off-site. That's probably your first decision to make!

Everyone here will be more than willing to help you!

Hi Season! I am planning in Cabo as well but not doing all-inclusive.

Be careful of Sep. as when I lived there we got hit (first time in years with a direct hit) with a nasty hurricane on Sept. 27th.

I have found a ton of good advise for where to look on this forum. Good Luck

hola and welcome!!

i live here in cabo and September is not a good month, i know the prices are inexpensive but the wheatear will be super super super!! hot and humidity also you have many chances of hurricanes near to the area and that will be lots of rain. and it it heats well, really September is not a good season, but if you canâ€t change the date, look out for a place that have an indoor option or a ballroom. wink.gif

hilton, sheraton, marquis, or a restaurant, !!

welcome season! there are a lot of cabo brides here including myself to help you. as you have already been told, sept is the worst month for hurricanes. i am getting married at the westin, which is not all-inclusive.

you should first decide whether you want an AI resort or not, that will help you narrow down your choices quite considerably. i'd rethink sept. honestly, can you push it up a month into august? there's less chance of hurricane weather then. my wedding is this aug 9th and we were told there should be no problems whatsoever.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
