The cost was reasonable to fly from Detroit and it was an adults only resort, which was important to us. They do allow children for the day of the wedding if you need that, and their sister resort is right across the street. The sister resort is a family resort. Anyone who stays at The Royal is allowed to use all of the facilities at The Gran Porto and if people stay at the Gran Porto, they can pay for a day pass at the Royal if they wish. I'll be posting a trip report shortly after we return. We will be staying there for two glorious, relaxing weeks. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask and I will try my best to answer whatever I can. Good luck with your planning!
i am so excited for your wedding! i'm dying to read another review about a wedding at The Royal. Are you getting married on the beach? Where will your reception be?? Are you using an outside photographer, and if so, is there a "penalty" so to speak?

Also the whole staff seems to be great so far. They have many options you can choose from to make the day your own and you also have the choice to bring your own materials at no extra cost. This is what I probably will do to cut some costs.
If you need any information on the resort let me know I have all the menus and options. Just pm me with any questions.
