Man I over tipped..lol Well atleast this one time we did. We had gone on this trip to Margritiaville and we had this bus driver who was like intimidating us to give him a good tip. We basically told us we needed to tip him $20! Everyone on the bus complained! We usually tipped $5-$10 but this guy was intimdating! We thought maybe we were undertipping everyone else!

We were always on a packed bus, so a couple of bucks from everyone adds up to a pretty nice tip. And it was always hard to get change anywhere so we had to give them whatever we had on us. The only person who demanded a big tip was our tour guide at Dunns River.

Thank you this help alot. Did you tip your bartender who servered you during your reception and the dj? I know everyday tipping but I was more or less talking about our wedding day. Like did you tip the pastor who performed your ceremony??

I fully intended too, but DH and I were pulled in so many directions it slipped both our minds. I intended to give them each $50. I would suggest putting the tips in individual envelops and asking the best man or someone to be in charge of it. We didn't even get to give Chandlyn her tip and thank you card until the day before we left b/c we couldn't ever catch up with her after our wedding.

Hi, just a tidbit for anyone interested. They sell "wedding gratuity envelopes" for only $2.95 per dozen on "www.orientaltrading.com". I purchased them myself. I am going to write the name of each recipient very small on the envelope for referencing & put the tips in ahead of time & put them in the safe when I arrive. Then just put them in your bridal purse or give them to the best man & you'll be all set. you or whomever u choose can reference the names on each envelope & give them out accordingly. The site also has a whole wedding section & luau tropical section with many things u can use for welcome bags.

And remember, tips are for good service! If you get great service, tip away, if the service stinks, don't feel bad not tipping. We tipped the bartenders and servers but Chandlyn didn't get a dime of our money since we didn't get a minute of her attention. I was fully prepared to tip her but really didn't feel she deserved it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
