I have been reading through your posts, and it looks like most of you had quite a few people.

Did anyone use the Fantasy pkg, and only have the 20 people, (or less)? We are working on a fairly tight budget. The packages, do they include everything you will need for the wedding? Or are there alot of extra things you have to pay for?

I hope that made sense : ) Thanks!

I am using the Fantasy package but we are budgeting for 50 right now. So there was an additional 900 for the additional 30 ppl. As far as including everything in the package- i'm not really sure what you mean. It tells you what is included. For example we are planning a sit down dinner at $80pp i think or so- that is additional. I hope this helps. I understand the confusion but you will figure it out. Go to the PRC post here! in the search and you will see a ton of threads. good luck with it!

I think if you like what's included in the Fantasy Package - and you have less than 20 people - it's the best value for dollar. I think the issue that most of us have had is that we wanted to changes things (i.e. the appetizers, etc) so there was an additional cost for every change. With a custom package you are paying for only what you want.

In terms of Fantasy - the legal cermony alone is $1000 - so if you like the Fantasy appetizers and are having a legal ceremony it's probably the best value for dollar. The package though doesn't include dinner - that you have to price per person separately based on what's in the packages.

Does that make sense? If you search the Paradisus thread I posted three spread sheets - each one is a breakdown of costs associated with each package for the specific things we wanted.

Makes sense. Thank you!

I think what I am confused about is the pay for dinner part, since it is all inclusive. I have read other resorts, when you pick your package they will make reservations at the restauraunt for you. And that would be included in your room rate? Is that an option her also? Or do you have to purchase the sit down dinner portion?

Off to search your threads now...

If you don't want a private dinner, but are happy in a regular restaurant with other hotel guests, then you shouldn't have a problem. The only possible issue is the size of your party - if the resort is REALLY crowded, they may not give you your first choice of restaurant, or may ask you to limit your dinner choices to one appetizer, one soup and two entrees. We encountered this a bit. But, I think you'll find that it won't really be a problem.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
