I thought the starfish might be too heavy if they were pinned just to a white linen shirt. So I am making the boutonnieres with sand dollars and ribbon.
Baybug, maybe that would work with your FI's shirt?

I know I had a pic somewhere but now can't find it. I think I am going to do a loop of ribbon (like the pic of the starfish) and maybe a small silk green leaf hotglued to the back.

I love the sand dollar idea! So cute! Our groomsmen are wearing solid shirts with a hibiscus panel across the chest, so I'm thinking I might just skip the boutonniere altogether for them. I'm sure they won't mind. :-) And Tom is wearing his military dress blues, so he won't need one. Maybe just one for my Dad and Tom's Dad...

The shirts are online. I just can't decide b/c I like the second one best (they are so similar), but I need cream/beige.

                  This one is at tydelhawaii.com

Don't you think a boutonniere would be too much o these shirts?

Let me know if you do! It's going to be a few months before I buy the guys shirts ... so if you get them, I'd love to know the quality. They are pretty sharp, and I think the guys would all be happy to wear them!~
