My wedding on Paradise Island was wonderful. Everything turned out perfect! The weather, the beach, my wedding planner, everything. If anybody is nervous about getting married on the beach, don't be. Everyone that was on the beach that was not part of the wedding was very respectful of our ceremony and even clapped when it was over.

I loved every minute at Atlantis/Paradise Island.

Again, if anyone wants more info, please feel free to contact me.

My husband and I are actually renewing our vows their next January 2009. The requirements are a minimum of 10 rooms for 3 nights or more, $150 pp before taxes and gratuities. They can book your entertainment for you, but the rest is up to you. They provide a list of recommended vendors for you to contact and book. I heard that Vincent Vaughn was a wonderful photographer and did great work. I will keep everyone informed once I have a formal meeting with the wedding coordinator.

I am getting married at the Atlantis Resort. Althought it is expensive, we chose it becuase it had everything for everyone. I don't know about everyone elses family but mine ranges from 8-80 years old. The group room rates were more then reasonable to me. $230 per night. If anyone in my family wanted to have this vacation on there own they would be paying almost $400 a night. The only thing that I had a hard time swallowing was the $3000 site fee. But to me you get what you pay for. Everyone says that the drinks are really expensive (which they are) but, you won't need more then 3-4 because they are not watered down like most resorts do. We are supplying 3meals (2 diners and 1 lunch) and there are plenty of places to just grab a sansdwich or burger. You don't have to sit down to a $200 dinner every night. The place is BIG, however I am not trying to turn every corner and bump into family. And i am sure they feel the same way. They paid for a vacation, they shouldn't feel obligated to do everything with everyone.

Now that I finished defending my favorite place. I can't wait to get married in Paradise and I wouldn't be intimidated by the size. It could be a blessing.

Defend away! I have a wedding I'm photographing there in a couple weeks. I can't wait. Although the place comes across as touristy, I'm guessing it won't be hard to find some areas that are a little more private close by...and from what I've seen the area where the ceremony will be held will be really nice. I'll have to post some "Atlantis" photos here or something.

I'm still picking out my wedding destination and it looks like Puerto Rico, Bahamas and Aruba are in the running. I was at the Atlantis last year and loved every minute of it. I think they are prob the most affordable places from NY. I would love to get married there. I just need to get an idea of the budget. I heard its expensive. But I'm hoping its not too expensive!! I would really love to have it there.

Best of luck!

Atlantis is too big and touristy for me. It's so expensive! To me really, it's just a waste of money! There are other places just as nice......I'm sure the weddings there are beautiful, but I prefer some place more intimate....Compass Point here I come......LOL....

My brother and his girlfriend went there last December... they loved it, but went in to town to buy water/food and only ate dinner at the resort because it was so expensive... they also did this at Disney going to 7/11,,, some may call it cheap, others smart lol

I think Atlantis is my number 1 choice right now. Actually, I am looking at having my wedding at the French Clositers followed by a reception at Atlantis. I may also have my wedding at Atlantis; it just depends on how the French Clositers works out. I have never been to Atlantis, but it looks dreamy and exactly what I want for my wedding. Any advise the Atlantis brides can share with me about your planning and wedding experience with Atlanta is greatly appreciated. We are looking at an October 2009 wedding with between 30-5 guests. I am looking for everything: a wedding planner, photographer, DJ, entertainment, anything.

Thanks.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
