how to make a rash go away?

The other day I was on a site inspection - going out into the desert on jeeps - and a coworker brought sunscreen for us all, being fair skinned I lathered up with it. It was Kids sunscreen SPF 50. I have sensitive skin but figured since it was a brand I'd used before that I would be fine. All was fine and dandy, I didn't get burned, and I thought I was free and clear... until the next day. My very sensitive skin decided it hated the sunscreen and has now broken out into a terrible rash all over my face, neck and chest. I have millions of tiny little bumps all over! How do I make this go away?

I have cortozon cream that I've been putting on. What else can I do to expedite getting this ugly rash gone?

Did you take a Benadryl? You can also ice the area to see if that helps the swelling go down. Wrap an icepack or a bag of frozen peas in a towel and test it out...

I would say be sure you keep it clean and dry. You might want to ask a pharmacist or call your doctor Monday.

Benadryl, cortizone and ice are your best bets. Just be careful with the cortizone because it will dry your skin out terribly if you use it too much.

You can also try an oatmeal bath - aveeno makes a nice one. Of course, the mess it makes of the tub is disgusting, but it really does soothe.

I have to be really careful about sunscreen too. I found a brand that works for me and try to only use that brand untill I couldn't get it in Canada anymore. I'm down to the last bottle bought on a cross border shopping trip. So now I'm working my way through some different kinds of sunscreen trying to find one that works when I'm out in the sun. I can use it and not go out and not have a reaction but then when I go in the sun I get a rash. I'm really fair skinned too so I use a high spf.

The only thing I've used is the Goldbond medicated moisturizer to reduce the itch, but I wouldn't use that on my face.

Good luck!

just a tip: if benadryl doesnt work, try a pepcid. the pepcid is not just an antacid, its also a good anti-histamine.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
