Secrets Capri is great and they made our engagement magical so I can only imagine the weddings, I do have some pictures...I will get them uploaded and share. I am a big fan of the Secrets brand all of the hotels are beautiful...we saw Maroma Beach when we last visited and it was equally as great.

I am always lookigng for any suggestions!!1

I love that the amount of Secrets brides on this forum is increasing!! I have some of the flower options Alejandra has sent me for my wedding on Dec. 6th. I will send a PM to you ladies who said that you all have pictures. I'm having everything on the beach and I want to make sure that is really where I want the ceremony, cocktail hr, and reception at!

I vacationed at Secrets Capri with my FI this March. It is what made us want to have a destination wedding. First, it was an amazing property....wonderful. We will definitely vacation there again and recommend it to friends. We did not, however, choose to have our wedding there. We decided on the Royal in PDC instead. Interestingly enough, we have never been to the Royal but have read much about it online. I guess the main reason is that we wanted our guests to have a little more to do. Secrets is so small and very very very quiet. It was perfect for a romantic vacation for two but I am not sure if it has quite enough going on for a big wedding group. I think it is all personal preference. If you are having a small intimate affair, then it just might be perfect! Let me know if you have any specific questions about Capri. I'll try to help however I can! All the best!

For those who have been - can you help with these 2 questions:

1. Alejandra said we could have our wedding on the deck (I think its next to the restaurant). What do you think? We dont care about privacy as much as some shade (why she suggested it). I'm not a huge fan of the gazeebo or the beach for what we have planned.

2. Is there a bar open at night? I know people have said its quiet at night - and that is fine with us. But I want there to be a place we can gather and get some drinks. Any insight on that would be appreciated!

Thanks ladies...

1. I think I know which deck she is referring to. It is the seating area for the outside casual food area. I didn't see any weddings there, but I do think I remember it being shady.

2. The lobby bar is really nice and is open late. The outdoor bars close early when the pool closes. Also, they have a disco area that opens at night you could go to also.

Hello! I thought I would post some pictures I took while on our honeymoon at Secrets this summer. Secrets is an extremely nice resort, but the wedding ceremony we saw was a bit awkward. I'm sure this is only because they used the gazebo...

First, the bride walked along side the pool extremely fast...I'm sure she was just nervous because everyone was cheering and watching her:

She walked up to the gazebo where people yelled and whistled (not exactly romantic) during the ceremony:

The ceremony only lasted about 10 minutes with everyone (including ourselves) watching on. They cut the cake and everything inside the gazebo, so it was very short and sweet.

Secrets is AMAZING, I just wouldn't choose the gazebo while the pool was open. I'm sure they have something they can put together at nighthuh.gif I don't know. Please let me know if you have any questions!!

Morning Ladies,

I emailed Alejandra about the Photographer seeing that our wedding is six moths away. Just to ask her who she recommends with our ultimate package that we are selecting. Here is her respose:

Actually we have a corporative photographer, enclose you will find the information about him.

I did email a girl who has used him before, she picked another photographer, she said there was three to choose from but got Juan the day of. But she liked him and said he did a nice video too! HTH!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
