Now this week I am staying off the scale as Aunt Flo and Cousin Bloat are in town, but I don't feel too much difference in my clothes so far so I think I'm fairing pretty well.

An example of what I've been eating....

Breakfast:
Either a bowl of cereal (various varieties of special K sometimes with a banana) or a Slim Fast shake if I'm in a big hurry before work.

Lunch:
I've been packing my lunch and doing either homemade soup (vegie, low fat low sodium chicken noodle), or a few other lower fat dishes I've made ahead.
I made lasagna rolls with low fat ricotta, prosciutto and spinach which makes for the perfect portion when rolled and they are well below the 15g fat.
Fi wanted meatloaf for lunch this week so I made it with oats instead of bread crumbs and used lean ground sirloin. His side was loaded mashed potatoes but I had various veggies each day (asparagus, broccoli, brussel sprouts).

Dinner:
We work 2pm to 11pm so lunch and dinner are somewhat reversed for us. Although our lunches are not large portions, we eat dinner foods then and have lighter items when we get home since we're usually awake until 4am.
Dinners have been a variety. I made wheat pancakes the other night (fi loves pancakes) with a fresh fruit compote. He has grilled fish fillets and zucchini or we're done grilled chicken strips for chicken wraps.

It's actually been really enjoyable trying to eat at home more and being prepared for lunches ahead of time.
All thoso dishes sound yummy. I am going to try the meatloaf with bread crumbs- I've never made meatloaf but FI loves it. I need something different.
THanks for some new ideas I'm the queen of shrimp/veggie stirfry or chicken dishes.

TVT Tara- Glad you got some input from the Alli people. I notice the day I eat my fiber cereal things really move along.... more than normal.

This is another poop story....

Okay, I totally agree about constipation with using Alli. I also experienced the same issue in the beginning. I tried using the Traditional Medicinals Smooth Move herbal laxative. It wasn't a "smooth move" with that tea. Actually, it was a painfully griping move. It also didn't work fully. I wasn't entirely cleaned out.

So, I reverted back to my roots. When I had poopy issues as a kid. My mom gave me citrate magnesium. Basically, it tastes like a really really really sour Sprite. I drank a full bottle and two bottles of water. Then, I went 4 hours later. I want to stress the word went!! Everything was out of my system. I knew it was, because I felt lighter and at ease. My constipation was making me irritable, my stomach was painful, hard and bloated from the back-up, and super gassy. The citrate magnesium cleared me out. These symptoms also went away too. My bowels are back on track again.

LOL, I am girl that goes 2-3/ day. So, the constipation scared me.

FYI, my current weight lost is 15 lbs. I've been on Alli for three weeks, almost 4 weeks. I stay within the 15 grams of fat per meal. Plus, I work out twice a day (15 mins in the morning and 15 mins in the evening). I already seen the changes in my body. I brought out my clothes from last year. I got into them and looked good.

Good Luck Everyone!!!

I actually lost a total of 20 lbs with Alli, exercise, and diet control. I went on my vacation and was very happy with the results. LOL, I've been off the wagon for about 3 weeks. When I came back from my trip to JA in August. I wanted a break from everything. I just started today. I'm glad to report that I did not gain any weight. I went back to eating normal again and my regular exercise routine. I also an additional 5 lbs. I am feeling great. So, I decided to get back on board again. I have a whole wardrobe of clothes that no longer fit me. Since, I lost weight, I am able to wear them again. It's like I have a new wardrobe for the winter. My total weight lost to date is 25 lbs.

The ones that gave people bad cramps and made them run to the bathroom. So that is why so many people have leakage. If you eat healthy anyway you will lose weight. But the reason why this is always raved about is b/c even though your only eating 15 grams of fat, half of those grams are being blocked by the alli pill. So its really like you only ate half of that. So even if you didn't take Alli and ate healthy, you still wouldn't be getting the benefit of half the calories. That's what makes it so "great".
I think this is something different. The stuff in chips was Olesterol (Olene). it's a fat your body can't absorb. The greasy poop would be for the same reason though; excess fat being secreted.

I remember learning about the drug in alli in a nutrition class. The hope was that by giving obese people this inhibitor, they would lose weight. But, they found that obese people had plenty inhibitor in their system, but the receptors no longer recognized it.

So my biggest fear of this drug would be screwing up your receptors by overloading your system with the inhibitor. Kind of like how type 2 diabetes can be aquired by non functioning insulin receptors or how people having drug withdrawls can not produce certain brain chemicals because they have been taking a synthetic version.

There are also many fat soluable vitamins that you can become deficient in. A multi-vitamin can not take the place of vitamins in your food.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
