Sacred Heart Diet Anyone?

Recommended Posts

yeah, the diet has definetly helped me to get back on a healthy eating track, but I think I may just have to add some variety, I'm going to wait as long as possible, but if I break down I just have to make sure it's healthy choices.

OMG you can say that again!!!

We just got home from a 3 year olds bday party!!! I turned down Ice Cream Cake - My FAVORITE and passed on a delicious chocolate chip cookie someone put down in front of me...but I did eat a piece of Veggie Hero (with the bread) and Chicken Cutlet Hero (without the bread). But we took the dogs for a walk this morning, so I dout the bread was horrible.

I think I might go have some soup....

DH and I are starting this on Monday. I don't really cook that much so I have a dumb question about making this soup... I got a slow cooker as a wedding gift so I was thinking this would be the perfect opportunity to crank that baby up! But do I just put everything in and let it simmer for awhile, until veggies get soft, overnight,..??

And do frozen veggies make it watery?

I'm sure you could do it in a slow cooker, but I probably wouldn't cook it longer than an hour or two because you only need to cook it until the veggies are soft, and since half of the veggies are canned it didn't really take very long cooking it on the stove. I didn't try frozen veggies.

good luck!

i'm making mind right now. 1/2 of it is water; it's a water based soup. i used mostly frozen veggies - i HATE the taste of canned veggies, other than corn and artichokes. i'd put it in the slow cooker, but only if you're 1/2ing the recipe. i sincerely doubt i would have fit all of this in my slow cooker. i also wouldn't cook it for more than an hr or two. i've been simmering mine for about 30 min b/c i like my veggies soft. btw, mine is SPICY!!!! i put some cayenne in, b/c you guys were saying it needed something...WOW! i put some lemon juice in to cut the spice, but it really needs sugar...not gonna do it tho....

How you feeling? "Hot Hot Hot"...sorry, broke into song LOL

Did you make the whole pot spicy or just the dish? I added the pepper to my bowl individually, so if I put too much, I can thin it out.

OMG...that is so good. Congrats!

I'm almost at my breaking point with this diet, in all honesty. I'm just having cravings for so many things, not even bad things, I would just like a bowl of freakin cereal! Or a salad with a little bit of dressing! Anything besides soup!

I'm going to try to get through today and stay on track, I have my daughters dance recital again today so that will eat up a lot of my afternoon.
I had a steak for breakfast yesterday and it was good (I don't even usually it beef). But, I think it was because I ate it after getting up at 6:30am, taking my dogs for a 2 mile walk/run and then mowing, weeding, edging my lawn and running to Lowes for gloves. So by the time I ate at 10am I probably could have eaten anything!! But, I was having cravings and broke down and ate 8 small grapes!! Couldn't help it.

Yeah, we weren't feeling beef for breakfast either. I don't usually have much appetite in the morning. FI said F* it and had a banana and then some celery and carrots. I think we're going to do chicken today instead of steak...

FI has been DYING for a bowl of cereal...we actually talked about after this week, modefing it and maybe doing a bowl of cereal for breakfast, Soup for luch, and Soup with a Heatly (mostly veggie) dinner.

The couple of lbs I gained yesterday, I lost again...so I'm back down 11 lbs...FI is down 12
I did beef for breakfast yesterday and ground turkey with salsa the rest of the day. I hope the salsa was okay cause I can't just eat regular tomatoes for some reason. It actually wasn't bad. I made so much soup that I won't have any choice but to continue the diet with a little variation. Protein shake for breakfast an turkey breast cutlet with soup for lunch and dinner.

I used frozen veggies too and also made mine too hot. And I added to the entire batch. I only had a bag of frozen spinach in the freezer so I added that to it and even though it's still spicy it's tolerable now. Unfortunately, now I have a ton of soup and my last day is suppose to be tomorrow. Oh well!!

no, my inner dummy decided to make the whole pot spicy. i LOVE spicy foods, but the cayenne didn't have a shaker top so more went in than i expected. i let it cool on the stove overnight, and then nuked a bowl, and it was just a bit spicy, but very tolerable. i also just ate about 1/4 of a small watermelon and i feel like all of my food is sloshing in my belly!
dh is away for the week, and summer vacation just began for me, so my whole week will consist of eating soup, farting a lot, and lounging in bed. maybe a shower here or there. wink.gif

here's my dilemma tho - we have a wedding friday night. it'll be day 6. we'll get there late, bc i have to pick dh up at airport, so cocktail hr will be no problem. what do i do about dinner? i know they'll have chateaubriand, but it'll probably have some kind of sauce on it. any suggestions?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
