The outside vendor fee for a photographer is $500.  I booked Fine Art Studio so I will be paying the outside vendor fee.  The Iberostar switched to a new photography company called Photo Pro (www.photo-pro.com.mx) in December but I didn't check them out since I already booked my photographer.

I'm not sure about the outside vendor fee for hair and makeup.  Alejandra is the wc and you can contact her at weddings.playacar@iberostar.com.mx

If the hotel offers the service, then they will apply an outside vendor fee. Since they have a hair salon and spa at the hotel, I am positive that having an outside vendor come onto the presmises will either cost you the outside vendor fee, OR you just have to pay the day pass for your stylist (I think it's $50 or $100).

I know a lot of girls have just gotten their stuff done on 5th avenue (5 min. cab ride from hotel). There are a lot of really nice salons there

That is Alejandra's e-mail address.  She is my wedding coordinater at the Quetzal.  She has been extremely helpful with every question I have had (and there have been a ton!  LOL!)  I would send you my list, but I booked last year and from my understanding the prices have gone up so it's probably best you get the proper pricing directly from the source.

I was really nervous about doing a destination wedding for fear of communication problems, but I can't say enough how extremely helpful she has been.  If there is anything you want that they do not have she will get you pricing for it from an outside vendor that they work with (like our light up dance floor!!).  We are getting married on June 1st, so if you have any questions about planning or small details I will happy to fill you in, but my prices may be a little less since they are 2012 prices!

Congratulations and happy hotel hunting!

Hi Future Mrs. Thomas!

I'm the future Mrs. Berg (fiance is from chi-town like you). We're getting married there on the 15th and I concur...i LOVE Alejandra. Our travel agent went and did a site visit, met Connie and Alejandra and said they were a dream. I can't wait to meet them in person.

Anyways, my fi and I are planning on gathering everything from 5th Ave. like yourself in regards to Maracas and little nic-nacs. from what I've read, there are vendors everywhere on 5th and you can negotiate prices. It's only a 5 minute cab ride (or 20 min walk) from the resort.

Question: Are you mailing stuff down to Alejandra or are you just packing it and flying with it? I've been collecting a ton of stuff to bring down there (it keeps accumulating...haha), but can't decide which would be better.

Take care! It's so close I'm so excited :)

-Jessica

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
