Im noticing her response time slowing as well. I guess it is because its wedding season. Im just going to try not to stess, send her lots of pictures, and plan on knowing exactly what I want when I get down there!

She said they cant do smaller tables but she did send me a few other ways they could set up the tables. One of the ways was in like a U shape and I thought it would be really nice for a smaller group. I would see if you could do that. I made little place cards to set out but I really did it just because I had left over materials.

I did make OOT bags. Im not quite done but I think i may need to cut myself off or Im not going to be able to get it all down there. Right now my plan is to share one suitcase with my FI for clothes (how much room can swimsuits and whatnot take up??) and have the other suitcase for stuff. My parents have also volunteered to do the same. If I cant make it all fit in two big suitcases, I should probably give up!!

So far for the bags I have bought plastic gift bags from party city for most guests and cute totes for the moms and grandmas ( i think theyre the only ones who will care anyways), first aid kits, sunsceen, aloe vera infused soaps that I made, cups with crazy straws, koozies, little foam water balls and post cards. I also have some beachballs, pool floats and mini footballs that Im just going to put in certain bags and everyone will share.

Im planning on making CD's for everyone as well, but thats all! Ive been told Im not allowed to buy anything else!!

Gosh, its coming so fast!! what are you working on now?

Looking to book my wedding at Iberostar Quetzal Dec 2012.  Any recommendations? We're thinking about 50 people will show.  It seems that all the details come together in the few months prior to the wedding date (from reading others reviews), but are you able to start getting things together any sooner? Any advice/PICTURES from wedding ceremonies etc would be GREAT!

Hi KelBram!  We are booked to have our wedding 11/10/12 so just a month before you!  I am new to this site, and so far I've deduced what you have...that all the planning really only happens a few months before!  We will have around 50-60 people also... if I find out any information I'll be sure to pass it along!

Hi AC and KelBram!  We're looking anywhere between 50-75...all depends on who ends up booking.  We have about 20 confirmed so far!  I requested a TON of information from the resort wedding coordinator and that has helped (spa, extra services, decor, etc).  I'm constantly emailing them with questions.  I also have the same impression that most of the details are finalized in the months before and even at the sit down the day we arrive.  I've made a few decisions like decoration color, photographer, restaurant, and music but I'm saving the majority of it until I know who all is going.  I've also been looking at pictures on TripAdvisor a lot which has been helpful.

Hi Ladies, I am a Quetzal Jan. 2013 bride and so excited! Are you guys doing a rehearsal? Is it even necessary due to the nature of the wedding? we are planning on getting legally married here at city hall in Canada (much easier) and then doing a vow renewal vs the paperwork and torture of translations in Mexico.

Hi Trace!  You're a month after me!!  As far as I know, I'm not doing a rehearsal or rehearsal dinner.  The wedding coordinator informed me that there is a quick run through but nothing formal like it would be back home.  We will also be getting legally married before we go down.  The DW we will consider our official wedding date and the courthouse is more of a paperwork formality, hah.

Hey Kali! Awesome, I can't wait to hear how your wedding went although I'm sure it will be fabulous! thanks for answering me, I think we are going to do a little rehearsal just to get our immediate families together for dinner but nothing fancy. Do you have a lot of people committed to coming? We have been overwhelmed by the response and now I'm stuck planning this huge wedding (in DW standards) in Mexico!!! I totally want to bombard you with questions as to what you are doing but I won't... yet. Hahah. Right now my FI and I are just trying to figure out exactly where to hold our reception - on the beach (but fear it may be too windy) or in a restaurant. Are you dealing with Antonieta?

Hello ladies. I will also be getting married at the Iberostar tucan january 2013! I am extremely excited (this will be both mine and my Fi's first all inclusive too!) As far as planning go.....we dont have much other then the date booked. So far we have about 35 confirmed guests. Our wedding planner's name is Connie...has anyone had any experience with her? We just put in the deposit for our wedding package today!  I have already started on the OOt bags (as doing it slowly/early feels easier on the wallet).  We would love for it to be on the beach (as we are both beach bums haha)

For anyone who has been to this resort...i have an odd question for all of you......Is it true that the rooms only have showers and not bathtubs? ( i may have read that somewhere)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
