Videography

Recommended Posts

Hi! Anyone not use/using a professional videographer for your wedding? I'm considering not using one because we have a pretty decent camera and can edit it when we get home. I'm just nervous about the sound quality due to the wind and ocean.

If you are using a videographer, how much are you paying (if you are comfortable sharing) and what is included in your package? Thanks so much!

hi we used the resort videographer it was $350 i think for the hour and then they edited it all we picked a couple of songs we wanted on it, in the end we got about 1/2 of video it was worth it though they did a great job and it was nice to see it as the actual wedding went by so fast..cheer2.gif

I am in the same boat we were going to do our own sine I wont get to see everyone go down the aisle but now I am leaning towards getting one.

A question for someone who hired one. I want to see the kids and my MOH come down but I was want to see my FH face also does your video show his expressions also? Or do you think its best I have someone just video tape the groom and another person video tape everyone walking in and then have it edited at home?

We just had a friend video for us and although its not that great, it will do for memory sake. For some reason our minister didn't have a mic so the sound is not that great. You can hear everything i say b/c I was facing the camera but DH had his back turned to the camera most of the time so you can barely make it out. I have heard very mixd reviews about the video from ROR, but i think no matter where you go you just have to decide how important is it really. How many times will you actually watch it? If you are planning an AHR then it might be worth it to have a nice pro video to play.

We did both... my dad went out and bought a really nice video camera right before we left, but we also got the video from the videographer done since we want to show parts of the video at our AHR. We thought my dad might be mad he bought the camera then went with the videographer anyhow... but let me tell you, when he saw what the videographer did, then got home and listened to his own version... he said it was well worth the money to have someone do it. All you can hear on his version is the wind, where as in the professionals one, there is no wind sound at all because the minister and my husband had microphones. In my opinion it was well worth it just so we can show it at our AHR (we plan on being introduced right after hearing our vows!)

We used the hotel videographer and for three hours we payed 498 and change. And the DVD is amazing, he edit and added music we loved it. Well worth the money. He did use microphones for the ceremony because of the wind. It's once in a life time get the professional.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
