That may be nice. My MOH's are going to carry a single green antherium. I guess I really wanted lillies b/c my grandmother carried them on her wedding day and I love the name Lily and thought if I ever had a girl I'd have a story to tell her.

Hmmm. I have family driving in from GDL the Wednesday prior to the wedding ( I get married on Friday). But I think they would die by then.
They MIGHT be okay, if you keep them in air conditioning ... of course, it depends on the flowers. Some flowers will do better a few days' earliers (like lilies, stargazers, casablancas) and others probably not quite as well (like callas, orchids). But if they stay someplace cool and get water and some 7UP, they probably would be alright. :)

I see a difference in them Amy. I dunno. The first ones look fake to me.

The problem with the vendors in GDL is that you have to babysit them CONSTANTLY to make sure they are on top of things and getting your order to you. And you have to pay them in a bank here in town and you have to go to the bus station to pick the flowers up. What I'm saying is it's a rigamaro - one that's not so bad when your WC does it but I honestly don't think you want that stress right before your wedding - But if you're a good stress handler, you might try Freesia. They only speak Spanish but I think I have the phone # somewhere, if you would like to give it a go :). This thing kept saying my message was too short so I'm blabbing on for no reason at all :):)
Yeah - or if you could tell me where they were located. My dad and step mom speak fluent spanish and they will get there Thursday and the wedding isn't till Saturday 5pm. I wonder how much notice the florist needs. If you have the number that is fine. I can have my dad call from my house here to give us an idea - also I just got a call to Mexico package for 10cents a minute - just for occasions like this!

right! I don't like the first one and this is the one she suggested as an alternative.

She just sent me prices on other bouquets I sent her. I'll post as soon as I get a chance. I really should've taken the month off, lol.

                Here you go!!
The contact's name is Rose and the address is: Mercado Palmar De Aramara Local 83 (it's overy by Walmart ... FYI)

                322-225-3221 Fax/ phone

                322-225-3317 Phone

I DEFINITELY suggest that you order beforehand. Otherwise, they just get in what they get in and you get what you get, sortof thing :).

HEY, where they are isn't pretty, eh? It's in an old mercado, SUPER local, tiny little place in the midst of a bunch of other stuff (like a butcher and little places to eat and little tiny place selling other stuff). But she will be WAAAAY cheaper than if I gave you the name of a pretty florist shop. Just don't want you to be scared and think I'm crazy!

We married in Jan 08. The flower shop we used were:

                  FLORERIA FRISSIA PUERTO VA

we spent 54.91 on 2 dozen white roses. 9 white long stemmed lilies. A filler w/ white tiny flowers, dont know name of it. We had a great time putting them together the day of the wedding. My bouquet and his boutonniere were made by Adventure Tours florist. That was included in the cost of wedding. Our guys had a silk orchid on their lapel. Because we didnt want to pay the extra for flowers that we would never enjoy we opted to do it this way and spend more on other things. Glad we did it this way. We also made 3 corsages for the grandmothers/mother of the groom. My mom carried the left over flowers which was perfect. She did not want a corsage.

The florist is located by Sams Club down the side street in an open type market which was great fun to go through. Its at the back of the area depending upon entering from the front. Its on the right side at the back. There are food shops here so just go to the back and ask them for the name. Its an open market inside. We paid w/ our debt card.

Below from another comment LC Bride:

The florist that jendam mentioned is called Frissia and is located in Mercado Palmar de Aramara, Loc. 83 and their phone number is 22-5-32-21. It is very nice local floral shop. They only carry certain flowers daily - not everything you are looking for - they may have to order.

I would suggest that you try Floreria Lucy - located at downtown behind the Pemex gas station on Peru Street - Ph. #22-2-61-30 - they speak english here - at Frissia they do not. They also have a shop at Plaza Marina, Local C-4 which is by the airport.

I use both of these florists exclusive for my wedding clients and have never been disappointed nor have my clients as they love their work and their prices are very reasonable.

YES - Aren't her flowers beautiful!!

I printed out the numbers and info - thanks Mishka and Vanessa! My dad it OOT but I will definitely have him call to see what we need to do!

The hotel is making our bouquets and bouts, I just think we can do our arrangements cheaper. I only have six arrangements to make when we get there, so it shouldn't be too much.

                    THANKS!
